Summary: Angler is the merc with all bark and all bite, shooting sharp, high-pressure bullets and luring in his prey with just a quick flick of a light. With his “Blackout” ability, turning him into a more than human bug zapper, Angler can reel in enemy heroes away from a certain area and put them out like a light. He can easily come to his own rescue with a “Dwarf Leech” needle, restoring his health but rendering him a target. Swift and strong, Angler will definitely last in battle, if dealt the right cards.

Ability 1: “Sharp Shooter”- Angler has a handheld gun which uses water pressure from a connected hose on his backpack to shoot sharpened, tooth-like bullets.

Ability 2: “Reel ‘Em In”- A large fishing rod that can pick up enemies and either pull them in closer or throw them out of range, possibly into other heroes.

Ability 3: “Flare Bomb”- Stun grenades that will admit bright flash of light when it lands. Nearby enemies will be blinded and disoriented for 5 seconds.

Ability 4: “Dwarf Leech”- A channeled ability where Angler will inject a needle into himself and restore half of his current health. It lasts a few seconds and will render him subject to attacks since he is unable to move during this process.

Ultimate Ability: “Blackout”- Angler can temporarily darken the map, save for the area he is in, which lures in enemy heroes in range and deactivates certain abilities once they enter the lit area. This lasts around 10 seconds.

Personality: Wade is highly impulsive, mischievous, arrogant, and even downright obnoxious, as described by his comrades. He enjoys getting into fights for pure sadistic pleasure and strongly dislikes those who are weak, showing very little respect for them. Wade also has a strong sense of loyalty, which developed to a much greater level as he matured, willing to do everything he can to protect his allies, or, at least the ones he likes. Easy to hold a grudge and openly resentful, Wade expresses an intense distaste for Overwatch, conjured up after his negative experience with them. Wade does, however, seem to have a more carefree and humorous personality, quick to make little jokes to lighten the mood, takes enjoyment in teasing others, and just laughs off misfortune.

Background/Bio: (Summerized)

Wade Kahuna grew up in Haleiwa, Hawaii with his father and brothers after his mother was killed during the Omnic Crisis. He was raised to be a fisherman, but he was unhappy with this life and dropped out of school to enlist in the army.

Having only been 17 at the time, Wade lied on the enlistment forms. He began and almost completed his training before being dishonorably discharged for not only lying but also disobeying orders and being a general pain in the ass. Wade did, however, catch the attention of Blackwatch, an Overwatch covert ops division. He convinced himself to join and was on a good streak for a few years until Blackwatch was disbanded.

Wade, being pissed with both the shutdown of Overwatch and those in Overwatch themselves, left the organization just before a fight broke out between Gabriel Reyes and Jack Morrison. He sought out to find another place he could use his skills, but came up short for and was in need of a job.

Eventually, he came across the organization Talon and was offered an opportunity to earn some cash. He was placed in an experimental procedure relating to biochemicals and kept on a strict training regime. Although most of the details regarding the procedure are kept hidden, they did manage to give Wade working gills and allow some of his body parts like his eyes to glow in the dark. He started as a low ranking operative, but eventually, Wade worked to move up the ranks to become a mercenary, kidnapper for hire and also gains intel through threats and torture.

Extras:
Angler’s mask has a camera in the light above his head.
The fingers of his gloves are webbed for swimming and easy kidnapping purposes.
His mask can open and close, but only slightly.
The tribal tattoos on his arms glow, along with his eyes, his hair, and the tats on his face. This may have been a result of a secret experiment dealing with biochemicals.
Angler has gills on his neck that actually work in the water, also possibly due to biochemical experimentation.
Everything on Angler’s person is completely waterproof and dries very quickly.
