Oh wow!
..I've stared at this work for about 7 minutes now, completely stunned by the incredible detail.
You, dear sir, are without doubt the master of pointilism.
:applaud: Thumbs up!

Amazingly well done job, the detail is amazing and I love bit of orange sticking out of his ear, it's a nice focal point.
Out of curiosity, is it a bird? Looks like those types that clean off the ticks and parasites.
Either way, still loving it. Good work.

It is a [link] Red-billed Oxpecker, but you can't see it's bill because his head is in the Rhino's ear canal where the ticks and bugs are. It is the first in a series of Oxpecker pointillism pieces that I will be doing. You can see some of my other series of pointillism pieces here: [link]

I know what pointillism is. But if you tell me that even the very dark shadows are done with a single dot at a time, then this is insane (in a really really good way).
I have to agree with those who said it could be mistaken for a picture.
Patience is magic. Look what it does! I am out of words! Congratulations on the DD. You deserved it.

Thank you, and yes, even the darkest shadows are nothing more than a collection of dots of ink from a Sakura Pigma Micron 005 pen. Each dot is 0.20mm .....

This is THE most gorgeous pointillism piece that I have ever seen. By far. The patience that it takes for a beautiful piece such as this in this style is impeccable.
I'm glad to see this get a DD. Congrats!

Thank you. I am quite proud of it, but I still think the Zebras are my favorite, even though this has more detail.

Thank you, but as I said in the 'artists comments' I read quite a few good books instead of totally working full-time at this. If someone had commissioned this it would have gotten done in far less time.

Seriously? Honestly?
This is fantastic, I'm amazed at the detail, you can tell alot of love whent into this piece!
Your gallery makes me want to keep messing around with pointillism because I've noticed little techniques you've used that I really want to try.
Again, the piece is fabulous and I applaud you for sticking to pointillism
