Balance is always an issue in art. You have a nice touch: balancing the model making the chair as integral to the image as the model herself. The skull at the top makes for the idea of a throne something to behold and at the same time, the legs stretched over the arms can be seen as a centering to the division of the image.
The viewer's eye can move up, then down, right then left with this work. I can't say it hit me amazingly hard since this is the imagery found in many art (painting) pieces but the intricacy works well with the noticeable background and the ornate scalloping of the chair.
