How can you not, they're always on fire. At parties, they are the fire starters. And when they love, they love with a fire within.

If I run out of fireballs, I have a crossbow. If I run out of magic, I have bolts of another kind...

I'm never satisfied with the way I do fire but sparks - thats something always present in fire that gives it a bit of extra action.

Wow! This is impressive. You did a fantastic job showing the spell in process both hands showing the fire of the spell. I also like how positioned his bandoliers holdings his knives for easy access.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MatesLaurentiu In reply to Odwynne [2013-04-21 22:05:47 +0000 UTC]

My knife position depends greatly on how the character fights. Some would rather have the knife at the back, some in the boots, some on the leg or forearm. I thought for a wizard, a frontal position is the best choice as he might use it not only as a weapon, but as a tool also, to gather reagents for his spells.

In the descriptions the client mentioned at the moment of casting the spells, the characters taunts his enemies and swears at them. So yeah, you could say he's feisty.

He is so HOT! Yep, fire mages I enjoy the light and colors here and his awesome look You made an uncommon robe again.. I haven't seen such a fantastic design before Hopefully the liquid around isn't an acid and he either knows a good spell to clean it or a powerful laundry detergent
And you've used the textures perfectly - I wouldn't recognize it's not a photo

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MatesLaurentiu In reply to Eveqi [2012-09-29 21:12:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Evi. No, the liquid is not acid, just stale water. I know nowadays people push for extreme designs in clothing but I chose to keep close to things people could really wear. At least it might help with cos play costumes if thats the case.

Eveqi In reply to MatesLaurentiu [2012-09-29 21:56:07 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that would be awesome to wear such a costume And I know what you mean - the higher level in MMO, the less wearable.. the character would need a lot of agility and strength to move in it

DragonGuy42 [2012-09-25 00:53:06 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's awesome!

I feel like most action scenes are overly cluttered and jumbled. Granted, sometimes that's the effect you want.
I like how this has such a simple composition, but still gets all the details right.

MatesLaurentiu In reply to DragonGuy42 [2012-09-25 22:04:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, it supposed to have burning bodies around him initially but the client's budget was a bit too small for that so we went with the focus just on the main character and I made all I could to imply enough for the people to make up the rest with their imagination.

Three sources of light bouncing around on different surfaces. It was challenging but fun at the same time.

Oh I can imagine! I'm not good with light and shadow but have been foolish enough to try to figure out multiple light sources a couple of times...it's not easy! lol!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MatesLaurentiu In reply to PoldalleLovesnare [2012-09-25 22:05:28 +0000 UTC]

Actually establishing the light sources was pretty easy, bouncing them around on different mediums and texture was actually the hard part.

PoldalleLovesnare In reply to MatesLaurentiu [2012-09-26 03:00:37 +0000 UTC]

Daniel-AV666 [2012-09-24 17:19:26 +0000 UTC]

Out of curiosity, what spell is he using, Meteorites or Fireball?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MatesLaurentiu In reply to Daniel-AV666 [2012-09-24 22:20:16 +0000 UTC]

Its Fireball. I would have represented Meteorites like some kind of inter dimensional vortex from which smaller but more fire balls would have crashed from above.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Daniel-AV666 In reply to MatesLaurentiu [2012-09-24 23:30:04 +0000 UTC]

I see, awesome. Though I didn't mean that one, I thought about eh... Well, I don't know if you've played Baldur's Gate II, but there is a spell that creates small meteors that the spellcaster can hurl forward and it looks kind of like that; they appear on the caster's hand and he just throws them.

As for the interdimensional vortex, that'd actually look pretty neat.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MatesLaurentiu In reply to Daniel-AV666 [2012-09-24 23:34:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I played Baldur's Gate but it was very long time ago and I don't remember all the spells. The way I imagine it could destroy whole platoons, even towns.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

DragonGuy42 In reply to MatesLaurentiu [2012-09-25 00:56:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I feel like using anything with the word "meteor" in a small enclosed space would be a... bad idea.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MatesLaurentiu In reply to DragonGuy42 [2012-09-25 22:06:49 +0000 UTC]

Not that "fireball" is less catastrophic. I remember when I used to play d&d and these things had radius and splash zones and misfire chance.

Daniel-AV666 In reply to MatesLaurentiu [2012-09-24 23:56:13 +0000 UTC]

I see. I'm playing it for the first time now, I thought it was overhyped and whatnot but it truly deserves the praise it gets, it's an excellent game.

And indeed, just the way it should be; massive and apocalyptic.
