OOPS NEW LION CHARACTER MY BAD
i changed her original eyes and nose color, but that's it really o:
anyway so yeah this girl is going to be Demu's love interest sorry not sorry

Name: Zambarau (Goes by Zamba though)
Name meaning: Purple
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual; straight
Species: plain ol' African Lion
Age: Adult; about 3 ½ years
Height: Below Average
Weight: Average
Group: Rogue

Personality: [Free-spirited] [Empathetic] [Loyal] [Playful] [Over-Confident] [Gentle] [Determined]

—[Free-Spirited]: Zamba is free-spirited, fun loving, and adventurous! While some might strive for power or for glory, Zamba merely wants to experience life in all the opportunities that it can throw at her. Whether through rain or heat, her spirit is never down.

—[Empathetic]: Being a rogue has it’s perks, but Zamba isn’t unknown to strife. She has a strong sense of justice but she also has the innate ability to relate and understand others problems. She’s naturally gifted at comforting and can sometimes be compared to a doting mother.

—[Loyal]: Like most lionesses, Zamba has a fierce sense of loyaltly. She’ll go great lengths to keep her friends safe, sometimes even enduring the harshest of treatments just to keep them smiling. Her loyalty can sometimes be blind though; she won’t realize that you’re using her until someone points it out to her.

—[Playful]: Although Zamba can sometimes be motherly, she’s also quite cub-ish as well. She’ll jump into song or dance whenever she feels the urge and will sit and listen intently to fairy tales like she too is still a cub herself.

—[Over-Confident]: While most people have low self-esteem problems, Zamba has a problem with over-confidence. She believes in herself just a little too much and this sense of confidence can sometimes get her into huge trouble- like when she tries to stand up to a much stronger opponent.

—[Gentle]: To go along with her motherly side, Zamba knows when to be gentle. She knows that sometimes a soft word or touch can go a long way when trying to sooth someone. And while it might seem like someone as playful as she would be clumsy, Zamba is rather graceful with her motions, able to glide in and out of a scene with the fluidity of water.

—[Determined]: Yet another problem stemming from Zamba’s over-confidence, she believes she has what it takes to get things done, and she won’t stop until her goal is accomplished, no matter how bleak the future looks!

Background:

—[Birth-Cubhood]: If you had to guess where Zamba was born, you might not guess that she was royalty. However, she was born and still is in fact, a princess. Her mother and father were the king and queen of a not-too-small-not-too-big pride just outside the northern flatland's. Although her birth was planned, her parents knew from the start that it would be her brothers who took over the pride. As the litter grew, Zamba learned of this fact and, although she did feel a slight ping of jealousy (as all young children would), she had no real problem with the idea of living happily under her brothers. She relished in the fact that she would be able to do whatever she wanted, her free-spirited nature blossoming at a young age. She and the other cubs of the pride would get into mischief and blame each other, but always, there was that sense of protection, of safety and love.

That was, until, Ghariki, the black king of the Delta attacked. He killed Zamba's father and all the other males- especially attacking all the other male guards and the royal family. Zamba's mother tried to save her sons, but before she could, they had been slain as well. With the defeat of the king and her mate and two sons dead, she pleaded to spare her youngest daughter. In a fit of desperation, she promised Ghariki the young child when she was matured. Zamba was frightened and almost too young to really understand what her mother had just done clung to her legs as their new tyrant of a king led them and the rest of the lions who had given in back to the center of the Delta Island Pride.

Life was unbearable in the Delta; Zamba and the rest of the lions from her pride were treated horrible. They were starved and worked to the bone until some of them could no longer stand. Zamba's mother had grown fed up with it. She was a coward in the beginning, but she couldn't stand it any longer. She rallied the slaves but they wouldn't listen; their spirits had already been broken. However, there was one lion who stood by her mothers side; Zamba, though young, was determined to make this plan work, with or without the help of the other slaves. Soon, she and her mother had devised a plan to escape the kings clutches. Most would expect to them to initiate the plan at night, but during the day, they had the element of surprise. They would wander about and seem nonchalant with their actions instead of suspicious in the dark. This is what Zamba's mother hoped for. And it worked- for a little while. As they ventured closer to the border, the eyes of the guards began to drift toward them. Finally, they had to run, and run they did. Her mother carried Zamba by her scruff and ran as quickly as she could, but her speed was no match for the stronger, well-fed guards who flanked her. It seemed like they would make it until she tripped, her paw catching a loose root from a tree. She stumbled and Zamba rolled away from her mother, who was soon swarmed with guards. The last thing she remembered was her mother screaming for her to run. Run she did; as fast and as hard as her little cub legs could carry her across the Kalahari, she fled.

A couple days later and Zamba found herself alone and starving in the heat of the sun. She felt her spirit breaking- until a shadow cast over her. It was a white lion, his mane as glorious as the sun his massive body blocked. At first, Zamba was frightened, but she soon came to know this lion as Rangi.

—[Adolescence]: Rangi became a surrogate father to Zamba. He was wise, gentle, and protective, nursing Zamba back to health until her free-spirit was soaring once again. As she grew, Rangi taught her many things; how to hunt, where the nicest places were to sleep or sunbath, and, most importantly, that life goes on. They grew extremely close and kept each other safe and socialized, earning them both wonderful times together. During this time, Zamba remembers it being the best- although she did miss her parents, she knew that the life she had now was worth more than wallowing in sorrow over the past. She had a life to live and a future ahead of her.

However, as the days progressed and Zamba grew closer to maturity, she noticed a limp in Rangi. When she confronted him about it, he spilled the beans, unable to lie to her. He had gained arthritis and was beginning to deteriorate. Zamba was never quite sure how old the lion was; she had always seen him as young and spry, which made it all the more surprising when his death came so abruptly. He went peacefully in his sleep one day, just suddenly never waking up. And before she knew it, Zamba was alone yet again.

She grieved, but Zamba wasn't down for long. What Rangi had taught her stuck all the more now that he was gone. She got back up and looked ahead, throwing caution to the wind as she ventured through the Kalahari a lone rogue for the first time. Despite the hardships she faced, Zamba found new hope- especially when she heard the whisper of a rumor on the wind. The animals around the plains chatted about the death of the black king of the delta and praised his forced successor, who now ruled the pride with peace and protection. Zamba, of course, needed to see this change for herself and set out to find whether this news was true or not.

—[Adulthood]: Shortly after hearing this news, Zamba matured and was now a fully fledged adult. If she came to find that the rumors were true, she wasn't sure what she would do next. She had been a rogue for so long that she couldn't comprehend joining a pride. However, that decision was almost immediately made for her when she saw him, her childhood friend Furaha.
