I remember the so called, "Spy Changers", as part of the "R.I.D. 2000" line.

G2 Prime looks a bit weird with the G2 re-reco.

I think a "Transformers: Spychangers" comic should be created, because this image is very awe-inspiring.

I worked at a Kaybee when then sold these, so I remember selling them. Never did buy any though, any homage to G1 is o.k. In my book. Nice work.

Thanks! Yeah, they're not really that special in the grand scheme of things, but at the time it was still a big deal to get toys that were marketed as those exact same G1 characters, not just variations on them in new universes. O, how we've been spoiled in the years since then.

Heh, yeah, I took a liberty or two with his head (basically moving the "ears" up), but it's really not that far off from the toy - even though any resemblance is basically coincidental.

Man, I WISH they'd made a proper Trailbreaker Spychanger, but that's actually Hoist. (I took a cue from X-Brawn 's portrayal on the RID cartoon , where he had a winch and hook-&-chain on his front end.)

Actually, they premiered in Kaybee's as part of the last few waves of the RiD line.

Then the same toys were put in Dollar General and other 1$ retail outlets under the Universe banner.

Universe even tossed in a translucent green Mirage, a Camshaft (translucent as well, based on the WARS toy), and a regular Mirage I think.

So, not really lucky, just patient. The originals on RiD cards retailed at about 5$ a piece and are more valuable (still on their cards of course).
