"Sideways vs. Axer: Vicious Cycles"Sideways the Autobot and Axer the Decepticon were released as toys in the Robots In Disguise line, but they never appeared in the (rather goofy) cartoon . So I imagine that while the camera was on the zany antics of the main characters, this was the kind of stuff happening just offscreen.
In a sense, this view may have been reinforced after I did the drawing, as Sideways would become a more well-known character in the Armada and Cybertron cartoons, going from Autobot to Decepticon to finally revealing himself as an agent of Unicron . And some obscure Japanese fiction did establish that these incarnations are all the same guy, traveling across dimensions.

I like how Axer's bio portrays him as being mostly just self-centered and resentful of the other 'Cons, while Sideways was later revealed to be incredibly evil. It's like a bad guy who isn't bad versus a good guy who isn't good.

Heh, I suppose that's true. What a strange place the extended RID universe is. I like how even Optimus Primal pops in as a "spirit guide" for Prime .

M interpretation of the story: Axer decided to take the job. The bounty was bigger than most hunters had ever heard of, plus, what better way to get on Megatrons good side than to Off Optimus Prime? As he was setting up his sniper, he was spotted by (at the time) Autobot Sideways. Immediatly, he jumped into action. Right as Axer was about to pull the trigger, Sideways' saw tore into his back. He lunged in pain, then turned to face Sideways. He shot 3 times, but only 1 shot hit, just grazing the side of Sideways' head. Sideways jumped at him, and tore deeply into his arm with his saw.

yes, i have seen Axer (now Axor)'s new toy, infact i got it just four days ago. it inspired me to draw a picture of all of the Axers side by side, like a lapse through time, or an evolution chart.

Yep, I got him when he came out. I remember how incredible it was that Hasbro gave him a new toy in RID - he seemed an impossibly obscure choice. These days, though, it's no big deal .

Heh, thanks... yeah, this one has always given people a little trouble. It doesn't help that the two robots are both mostly black.
The story I meant to tell was that Axer (the one in front) is attempting to shoot Prime with the rifle in the foreground. But Sideways is trying to stop him. So Axer is holding Sideways back by the neck, while Sideways swings his Pizza-Cutter of Doom around into the crook of Axer's other arm.
