Description
And now for something a bit unusual.Last month, I was alerted to the fact that The Escapist (a video games website, in case you were wondering, which can be found here: [link] ) had launched a webcomic competition. I didn't initially think anything of this, because at the time I was working on Apeman and Monkeyboy material, but a few days later it occurred to me that it might be worth taking part purely as an exercise in trying to speed up my drawing (because heaven knows it could use some speeding up, as you may possibly have noticed). The competition prize was a paid contract to produce two comic strips for the site every week, and entrants had to submit four comics along with a logo box. I reasoned that I'd need to get everything drawn, inked, coloured and lettered in less than a fortnight, since whoever won the contest would need to produce artwork at least that fast on a continual basis, and I set about trying to create something out of a rough idea I'd had about the digital equivalent of hell and a bunch of demonic computer viruses.
And, much to my surprise, I actually managed it. Crumbs, eh?
This is the first of the comics I submitted under the title of Bugged to Hell, and it introduces the basic concept of the thing along with one of the main characters, who was inspired by something I drew for an art jam here on DA back in 2007. (This thing here, to be precise: [link] .) Mal is a great deal more chipper than the original character design, but he's still thoroughly evil. He just enjoys his job, that's all.
I didn't expect to win the contest (because they had more than 350 entries and, if I'm honest, I'm not terribly knowledgeable about the latest goings-on in the wacky world of video gaming. This shows particularly in the third comic, which pokes fun at a collection of games that came out before even your granny was born), and sure enough I didn't, but I remain hugely proud of what I managed to produce in such a short space of time. Seriously, four pages of finished comic in less than two weeks is something of a minor miracle for me.
The remaining pages will follow shortly. Stay tuned!

...I feel like a bit of a twit that I didn't realize this was the comic you were talking about in your note, this is why it pays to read descriptions!
But anyways, This made me laugh and smile...very clever, especially the last two panels.

Glad it proved amusing! You can't go wrong with a bit of Disney-baiting.

You raise a valid point, but fear not; there's also a special hell for programmers, where the only language is Java and all the demons look like attractive young air stewards, so the damned spend eternity not only writhing in agony but also far too embarrassed to talk to anybody.

How about a hell for personal designer or artist who brought us this nightmare from the 80s

Good Lord. That's, er, an interesting costume. And why has he only got one leg?

Probably broken off by the looks of his knee on the other leg, he was also accessorized with steel ankle bracelets with key-chain maces attached to them.

I hope that "anti-spyware" XP-Shield is there, cost me about 2 or 3 laptops.

Lordy, that's a major pain. Don't worry, I'm sure it's down there somewhere in the dark domain of the virtual cloven-hoofed one. BURNING ETERNALLY. Aha ha ha!
