Description
Forget what The Lion King tells you about hyenas, because they’re actually excellent – and this fellow is a case in point. His name is Ino (as you’ll probably have gathered from the heading in big letters, but never mind), he’s in the business of protecting kings from harm as opposed to arranging for them to be bumped off, and he fights evildoers by whirling a pair of scythes all over the place, which is a neat trick if you can do it.Ino is a character created by spiffing writer and all-round top chap Chris Zawadzki, and he was drawn with ink and pencils. The hyena bloke, that is, not Chris.

Many thanks indeed! Your artwork is sensationally beautiful in every respect, and it was a delight to discover your DeviantArt gallery. I encountered it via FA, where I happened across your various splendid fighter characters, and I was thrilled to find a wealth of additional art over here. I shall greatly look forward to seeing more of your work in the future!

This fits the Kobold mercenary appearance. I like the Expression and the attire. He must be pretty good to dual wield scythes like that. no one wouldn't want to mess with him even with that expression on his face.

You have to be good to wield two scythes at once. Because if you're not, you tend not to wield them for very long...

He's so handsome, very nice paws and head too. I like his body at all. Ahh, I like these clothes are my favorite color.
I've choose a hyena for my own fursona, but it looks like simple.

Hey, I like your hyena guy! He's got a really neat design, and a great line in crafty expressions.
I'm delighted you like Ino so much, as well. I really must get round to drawing him again...

Crazy! I had a DnD character who dual-wielded a pair of nasty scythes...but he switched to a chain and became worse (in the evil sense).
Thanx for reminding me of that! I almost forgot completely! ^^

You're most welcome. It's not easy to whirl scythes round your head without lopping things off, but it's a good trick if you can do it.

Well-built, good-looking, nice pose, nice outfit, well-coloured, good facial expression... I don't even mind that the shoulder doesn't appear to go all the way back. Or does it? Anyway, nice work as usual.

I'm glad you like him! Regarding the shoulder, it think it does connect up properly to the rest of him

Gah, my comment got cut off again. The full post read like this: I think his shoulder does connect up properly to the rest of him, because he's turned sufficiently that he's almost (but not quite) standing side-on to us, and also he's hunching his shoulder forwards to swing one of his scythes. However, this was drawn before I'd started to get the hang of proper character construction, so it could be a bit off.
Apologies for the wonky posting!

And I didn't even get around to viewing the correction until now. Or maybe I did but don't remember. Anyhow, I'm OK.

Jolly good. I don't know what was up with DA's periodic fits of techy weirdness back then, but it seems to have sorted itself out now, so Hurrah! for that.

Many thanks for the compliments! I've only recently started to get the hang of proper character construction, so it's great to hear that the musculature looks right, and I'm greatly flattered that you think you can learn from my humble doodling.

Thanks for the kindly comments. Chris has a great knack for coming up with interesting and unusual characters, and the story he's writing is shaping up to be seriously snazzy. Ino's weaponry is a case in point - fighting two-handed with scythes is something I'd never have thought of, and it was tons of fun to draw, especially as I like hyenas anyway. I've got another piccy of this guy lying in a sketchbook somewhere, so keep your eyes peeled for another guest appearance!
