It's Chimp Ion , this time inked and with digi-colouring! See, I said you'd be seeing more from him later. True, I hadn't originally envisioned it being five years later, but hey, we're here now.

This was done as both an exercise in speeding up my Photoshop cel-shading and as a way of working out precisely what his colour scheme should be; I knew he was going to be predominantly green (because he's an alien, and everyone knows that aliens are green, right kids?), but I wasn't sure about his boxing gear or his outcroppings of facial/chest hair. In the event, it quickly became clear that black was the ideal supplementary hue. Chimp is, after all, a mean-spirited bullying thug and an all-round bad bloke, and there's a reason Darth Vader didn't wear pink and white chequered gingham.

For those who find themselves curious, Chimp features in an Apeman and Monkeyboy story of intergalactic gangsterism and pan-dimensional prizefighting, which ultimately sees Apeman forced to fight Mr Ion in a punishing pay-per-view battle. Who will emerge victorious? Who will be conked insensible? And where's my red pen? Several of these questions and probably some other ones will most definitely be answered at some point.
