This fellow is another of the characters from the short story project that Grall [link] appeared in - and, as is perhaps obvious from the purple mullet and snazzy tattoos, he's not your average orc.Dorian Loktar was created by a groovy guy who used to go (and may still go - it's been a while) by the on-line name of Cade, and there's an elf somewhere in his ancestry, which explains the hairdo and the pointy ears and the general spikiness of him. He's uncommonly fast and agile (especially among orcs), devilishly cunning and spends an absolute fortune on styling mousse, a fact that really ought not to inspire sniggering unless you want your face kicked off. Also, I can't help but imagine that he talks with a heady Spanish accent, which isn't strictly relevant but adds local colour.
Mr Loktar (bonus points for spotting where his surname comes from) is, as previously established, the copyrighted creation of Cade. Infringement-related activities will result in your suffering a "little accident", quite possibly involving a cutlass.

I really do want to continue the series, but it probably won't be any time soon. However, I shall be sure to post news of any updates on my DA homepage. And I'd *love* to see the orcs in animated form, but at present I sadly have neither the skills nor the time required. Still, maybe one day, eh?

Actually, they weren't too bad - the blue-and-purple one going round his arm was a bit fiddly, but otherwise they were fairly straightforward (not least because, in almost every case, you can only see a fragment of each tattoo - a deliberate ploy to save on colouring time). Oddly, the wrappings round his legs and forearms proved more problematic - I didn't have the appropriate sandy colour among my pencils, so I had to use a darker colour and blend white into it. This was time-consuming, but I think it turned out quite well in the end.

As a general rule Dorian only beats people up for money, but if you really want to pick a fight with him (are you absolutely sure about this?), poking fun at his hairdo should do the trick. Just give me a minute to get out of the way.

I really am keen to draw the rest of the OWCH cast and finish the stories at some point. Quite when this is likely to happen is another matter, but I'll be sure to post any new stuff here when the time comes.
