Description A pencilled-then-inked-then-coloured-with-some-different-pencils piece created for GH-Mongo [link] , in honour of his being an unfailingly excellent sort of chap, featuring his musical walrus character Sforzando. You might have thought that great big tusks and exceedingly whiskery whiskers would be a hindrance to successful trumpeting, but you’d be in a whole world of wrong for thinking that, as the talented Mr S is now demonstrating. Humphrey Lyttleton would be proud.

Speaking of the late great Humph, this drawing is dedicated to the memory of the red pencil that gave its life to the creation of the background. It has gone to a better place.

Sforzando is indeed a talented trumpet-person. He's also good with a tuba, in the sense that he can silence hecklers by jamming them into the bell.

I've always thought that, with enough practice, anyone can draw anything - it's just a question of sticking at it, and I've no doubt you could do groovy things with pencils in time. Being a detail-obsessed perfectionist helps too, of course, though not in the sense of getting drawings done quickly. Cough.

Anyway, lots of thanks for the kind words! Delighted you like the piccy.

This is quite a creative piece. It's well-proportioned, and as usual, the description is captivating.

I shall indeed. And yes, ol' Red has gone where all good pencils go - Stationery Heaven, where the Biros all work, the paper is uncrumpled and the erasers remain unchewed. It's sort of like a celestial branch of Staples.

Your shading is surprisingly pleasant :3 It's noisey but at same time soft. The gold gradient effect is indeed great, both in the trumpet and in the notes.
Reddie sure made a great job there. He were one of my favourites ;_;

Now that is some seriously fantastic work! It's great to see your version of the big ol'Walrus, I'm just awe struck from the colors - really, those are some of the best colors I have seen in a long while, the texture on his suit is so good that I find it very hard to believe that this is done on plain old paper! not to mention the trumpet colors - the shading and light reflection on it is simply fantastic! I've no idea how you do what you do, but sir, please keep at it!
Rest in peace sir Red, you've made us all very happy people.

Cheers muchly for the kind compliments! I'm greatly pleased you like my rendition of Mr S; I was really pleased with how the whole thing turned out, though the background did nearly make my thumb drop off.
