If transformers don't have guns, HOW are they supposed to shoot each other?

Well, even in G1, when they DID have guns, it wasn't like they did much good -- everyone had the aim of a Star Wars stormtrooper. And they were awfully fond of beating on each other instead of shooting each other.

I agree. Sucks they don't have guns. But that's most likely so that the younger generation are allowed to watch it, after all, parent's control the TV now adays.

Maybe they don't have guns because seeing a robot leap fifty feet in the air and throwing a pair of blades with deadly accuracy is a lot more visually interesting than watching a robot stand in one place and fire a gun that won't hit anyone anyway.

Is because Blitzwing, Megatron and Starscream were ex-military rebels. The TFA incarnation versions of Optimus and his crew were repair bots who were not expected to goe into combat especially not against very dangerously armed to the teeth cons.

They aren't soldiers, they're repair bots. Their weapons were working tools that can be used against enemies, but weren't designed for it.
You know, like how a shovel is good for digging, but can flatten someone's skull if it has to.

the only main TFA Autobot with a blaster type was Bumblebee and his "stingers". Because he was part of a space bridge repair crew, his stingers were woefully underpowder until season three where they were upgraded to weapons grade
