I really wish someone at Sega would decide to make a good Sonic game. Where he just runs around fast and jumps on robots... seems simple enough. Kinda strange that the funnest version of Sonic to play thsi year (in my opinion) is in a game made by Nintendo, heh.

I though riders was good, but yes they just can't seem to get the right feeling for new sonic games

for the record, i enjoy those games, except for the tennis one since i've never seen anything about it or played it. yet.

Actually, I heard good things about Sonic Chronicles. Fortunately for Sonic, Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations got him back to simple platforming with speed, and were actually pretty good (if very short).

At the time the point was that Sonic had was doing everything but be in a real sonic game.
There have since been some, like Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations.

It's understandable why they don't bother making quality. They haven't made games for themselves since they went bankrupt in the 90's. Since then they've been forced to make games for their former competitors.

In Smash Bros. Sonic didn't have any default weapon. The only weapon he used were the items that randomly appeared. Sonic fought using his own skills.
And Sonic Riders wasn't about surfing. It wa about Airboarding. And Superspeed meshes real well with sword fighting.

Yeah, SEGA has put out alot of bad Sonic games the past five years. Only one Sonic game series was pretty good during that time and that's Sonic Rivals for PSP by Backbone Enterment. Sonic Rivals was about as close as Sonic fans could get to playing a classic Sonic game. The rest of Sonc's other games were awful, just terrible.
However, SEGA seems to have relaized that they were not doing a good job with Sonic and is working on Sonic 4. You shouldn't get too happy about Sonic 4 through as SEGA have deciced to make Sonic 4 a downloadable title only which means Sonic 4 won't be in CD-Rom style when it comes out. Bummer.
