Centurions was one of my fav shows in the 80s. I still love this opening. Bill Woodson narration(from Superfriends), plus Jack Kirby & Gil Kane designs(heard of them?), plus Sunrise animation(Gundam) equals AWESOME SAUCE.

When I was a kid I had Jake Rockwell + Detonator, and Hacker. I don’t know what happened to them over the years but they’re totally gone…HOWEVER! A friend of mine gave me a near complete Jake Rockwell + Detonator + Wild Weasel for a gift recently. So cool.

Centurions was awesome. My brother, my cousin and I had the toys. My brother had Ace McCloud with Sky Knight, Orbital Interceptor and Skyvolt. My cousin had Max Ray with Cruiser and TidalBlast. I had Jake with FireForce and Wild Weasel. Getting Wild Weasel for my birthday as a kid was one of the best gifts ever!

Ohhh mmmmaannnn!

PAINFUL memory!

I still remember one time our local K-Mart had an 80% sale, the first thing I grabbed was Sky Lynx...The next was Skybolt.....

Skybolt was without an owner for a long time, until at a local toys sale, I convinced mom to buy me Ace McCloud....So finally, Skybolt has an owner....Then three years later, my mom promptly gave away all my toys to local charity while moving to our new house, saying, "you have outgrown it!" ....Have nightmare still on this.....Luckly, i was able to save and pull Sky Lynx from the dung heap...But that was about it.....

that was a beautifully-animated intro (one of the better ones of the 80s)... I've never followed it much back then, but one of my younger brothers did

funny comic here! hehe

That was one of my favorites too. I had Jake and Max as well as one of those air drones that the villains used.
Now I need to look for that show online.

Looking forward to the Visionaries! If you'll pardon the word play, I think that series was truly ahead of its time.

Galaxy Rangers was actually a pretty old show. I remember getting up really early in elementary school to watch it (in U.S.), and it came on right after Starblazers.

Heh same thing happened to me. I never knew what became of my G1 Insecticons till the day I moved out of my parents house and my mom shows me a box she found and asked if I wanted what was inside. Seems when i got grounded back as a kid they were taken away and NEVER given back. Still cool you got them back.

I remember Centurians. Awesome stuff! Those were some good times. I recall me and my brothers assigning ourselves as one of the trio characters. can't recall who I stuck with. Might've been the Water guy (?).

Guess they gave him an IKEA model, being the Swedish president?

JTGrimm In reply to Frobman [2009-10-13 00:46:19 +0000 UTC]

The "Water Guy" would've been Max Ray, sporting the "thank God for Tom Selleck making the 70's-porn-star-moustache relevant in the 80's" moustache.

Oh my word! I absolutely adore Centurions! Jake was clearly the best, Max was just a pretentious arse and Ace, well, he was too busy chasing skirt... The voice acting could've been a little better, but on the whole it was an excellent cartoon and this comic strip just brings back so many wonderful memories. Centurions AND killing politicians... Ummmm, uh-oh... I've said too much...

I loved them when I was a child, the animation was great and the story revolved around adults and not teens like in most cartoons.

"A friend of mine gave me a near complete Jake Rockwell," define near-complete O_o, sounds like it's missing limbs or something XD
