Description
Designed as a cousin to the various "sturm" family of fighters. This is a 100t omni with a massive forward nose bay.Wacom and PS over pencil sketch.

Its got 4 spots on the wings, so instead of a Plasma rifle the armament could be 3 Heavy Guass each fed by 2 tons, 1 Heavy PCC, and 4 ER Medium lasers in case it has to dogfight.

Highly ammo dependet, but whoever stands on the wrong side of the barrels is in for an INSANE hail of fire.

Heavy Guass only come in one caliber. Clan Hyper Assault Guass come in 20, 30, and 40.

Nope the Sturm family of fighters are House Steiner produced aerospace fighters, mainly designed for anti-dropship duties.
As an aside: Some later Clan fighters and dropships used HAG's as while their shots do spread out, they maintain some semblance of accuracy and of course the HAG/20 has about the same range profile as a standard Guass Rifle, that is effective to 800 meters, and a little beyond. Makes them effective support weapons on dropships.

Kind of makes sense, Sturm is the german word for storm, Steiner´s primary language.
About 800m, that´s nice. I never looked at the HAGs ranges, i just realize.

Well the range is an educated guess, but given the behavior of a Guass rifle I doubt it would be anything below 600 meters, as it wouldnt make sense.

Checked Sarna, all HAGs have 24 range, so 720m.
Heavy has 20 (600m), while the regular has 22 (660m).

Should match quite pleasantly with Clan ER Large Lasers or Clan ER PPCs.
I prefer to have at least one energy weapon to avoid being left in the field with a nasty case of ammo shortage.

I did one HAG/30 and a pair of ER PPCs for a custom build, but the prime config has 4 ER Medium lasers and 2 HAG/20s. Good close range firepower and long range striking power.
Plus I put MMLs on it too if I remember right.

MML's are actually Clan tech, because they were developed by Battle Magic, who were in turn a branch of the Wolf's Dragoons, who in turn were all Clansmen and women. They were just built with IS material as the Dragoon's sided with the Inner Sphere instead.

Not on many designs no. I believe a few do though. I know Clan Nova Cat uses them, in particular on the Joust Medium Tank. It carries an ER Large Laser, MML-7, and 4 machine guns. I usually replace the guns with a Clan Small Pulse laser since 4 MGs equals 1 ton and so does one Clan Small Pulse.
