woah thats a great idea, would also mean you can mark on it if you want with an erasable pen without muddying it further. I will have to try that, especially for my own designed patterns that tend to get really ratted up since i just do them on graph paper.

Thanks for sharing

I never thought about the contact paper! I have at least been making copies of my charts and using those rather than the original charts for my cross-stitch projects for a while now.

Yes! That is what I was doing too so I wouldn't ruin my books or magazines, and then one day it occurred to me to laminate it with the contact paper since I kept spilling coffee on the paper It wipes off so easily and if you have kidlets running around with sticking hands THAT wipes off of the vinyl as well

I am so confused with this lamination film. This is the "cold lamination film" right?...the one where you don't need to use machine?...I'm planning on making a keychain out of drawing printed on paper and laminated, like this [link] ...will this kind of film work?

The laminate on that link you gave me is a hard laminate whereas the contact paper I use is a vinyl that is flexible. If you want your keychain to last longer I recommend the hard laminate

b-but! I would still work right?...well the thing is I have to mass produce the keyhain coz I intend to sell it to some con. I dun have a machine and neither a money for it so...nyoron~

Thanks for answering my question! I've talked to a lot of people (and supplier) but they would just ignore me...T_T

ha ha, well then go for it, it is washable with the vinyl and as I have said very flexible. I think with a paperhole punch you could easily make the holes for the rings for the keychains without ripping. The vinyl is pretty durable, but nothing like the hard laminate. Also it would be easier for you to cut around the picture so that you have the edges you need to keep the anime pics from being damaged

ahaha...yeah yeah that's what I inteded to do. Thanks so much! I'll try to buy the lamination sheet! I was skeptical to buy it since it's a whole pack and will cost me bigger amount than buying the hot one per piece. I also thought at first the the cold film is just like a coating or something.Really thank you for the help!!

this is a really great idea! i just took my last pattern and taped the pieces together with scotch tape... and now it's so worn on the folds that i have to improvise!!

haha, I had that problem all the time and it bugged me so when I was a field marketing rep I was building a new display rack for the contact paper and the thought crossed my mind so I gave it a try and it's been PERFECT! No matter how large the graph it works every time

ooooh - just a question - what is the UK version of 'Contact' Paper. I've never heard of it.

Otherwise, this is great! I'll certainly be giving this a go!

I'm not sure, I was thinking it was maybe Magic Cover, and the only place I can think of that would have it would be Wickes and I thought Marks and Spencers would have it but when I went to both websites I couldn't find it.

I know "Con-Tact Brand" is sold all over the world. I can get it at the Home Depot, Wal Mart(aka ASDA) or Fred Meyers (a kind of Marks and Spencers here ha ha). It's technically a drawer or shelf liner for the cupboards made out of vinyl.

If your search fails let me know and I'll just send you a roll
