Description
OK, so here's Azula...second in my realistic avatar series...I loved the lineart for this...blah blah...don't want to hear me rant about my lack of love for my color work.Hatsumomo from Memoirs of a Geisha was a HUGE inspiration for this piece...the hair...the evil...all of it.
I had fun with this...
Up next is Ty Lee...lineart is finished...working on the color.
Again, Avatar Characters do not belong to me...Property of Nickelodeon, blah blah blah.

Wow, she looks beautiful! I love the kimono! I can totally see how you got the inspiration from Hatsumomo. Actually, now that I think of it, Azula reminds me of her. Great job! Wonderful coloring!

Thank you!
As I was drawing this and her hair began to take on a life of its own, I was like "HMmm...reminds me of Hatsumomo!!!"
I love that movie.

Yeah, Memoirs of a Geisha was a wonderful movie! The book was pretty good too.

Yes it was! One of the best books I've read in a while. I liked Nobu-San more in the book than in the movie.

Me too. I don't think the movie really developed his character as well as the book did, but then again, it was a movie.

Yeah, that's always hard...rarely does the movie live up to the book...there's just not enough time.

I must admit though- Memoirs was an insanely long movie.

Yeah it kind of was...I've seen longer...or...rather...movies that SEEMED longer.
Braveheart was long...didn't seem like it though...Phantom of the Opera was long....but I loved every second of it.

My sister was obsessed with Phantom of the Opera when it came out. I liked the music, but the story seemed a little messed up to me... not that it's bad though! I know that Spider Man 3 seemed insanely long.

The story of Phantom of the Opera IS messed up, man. The musical is the tame version. I read the book...now THAT is messed up!
I was not a fan of the spider man movies. The first one was ok..the other two were cheese times ten.

I haven't read the book before. I'm kind of scared too... J/K!
Yeah, the first Spider Man was the best. The other two were too dramatic.

Exactly...Super-hero movies need to tone down the drama...except Batman. MAN am I excited to see the new one...poor Heath.
The book is definitely messed up. The phantom is an expert in various methods of torture....and he was like...a hired assassin...not at all like the musical. CREEPY

Yes, poor Heath. I heard he did a good job portraying the Joker though. This Batman's supposed to be the darkest of any of them. I don't know if I'll see it though; I still haven't seen Batman Begins.
Eww! Yeah... that was definently not like the musical...

You haven't seen batman begins?! You're missing out!
I don't like super-hero movies...and I LOVED that one...great story and character development. Beautifully done...plus...it's Christian Bale! oh how I love him. I've had a crush on him since I was little and saw "Empire of the Sun" for the first time. CUTIE PATOOTIE!

I've never seen any of Christian Bale's movies. Or, I might have, and just not have known it was him. My parents saw Batman Begins. They didn't like it, but I'm not going to base my opinions off of theirs. I think Iron Man looks pretty good from the trailers so far, and Robert Downey Jr.'s a pretty good actor (even if he does have some personal problems), so I think I'll see that when it comes out on DVD.

Christian Bale is awesome. He was also in Little Women (the version with Winona Ryder...he was Laurie...I LOVE that movie!)
Empire of the sun is amazing...emotional, gut-wrenching and touching...about a young British boy living in China with his family during World War II...he is seperated from them and sent to a work camp...it's so beautifully done (Spielberg...a MUST-see.)

I've never seen Little Women either, or read the book. Ooh, Empire of the Sun sounds good! I think I'll have to go rent that one. And stuff by Spielberg is usually really good.

It's not a big dramatic movie...and it's nothing really amazing...THAT is what makes it incredible...it's a simple story about an ordinary girl and her dog...it's so well done. I just bought it.

I've tried...I lose my patience very quickly. I don't think there's anything wrong with short hair but...Let's just say that I wish I had a hair type that I just don't have...something that would look good long.
My hair is baby-fine and has WEIRD cowlicks everywhere...It's easier to hide when it's short. I had my hair down to my shoulders a long time ago...it drove me nuts...and didn't look very pretty either.
I want thick naturally wavy and shiny perfect hair...is that really so much to ask?! LoL

Lol, I have ONE HUGE cowlick on the front of my hair. They said if I got bangs, I could hide it, but I don't really mind it. xD I just let it go where ever it wants to.
Well, I could see why you want hair like that. xD Maybe it IS too much to ask for!! o_O
