I once was a resident[Almost] Fort Miles.
Great pic. I have the one I took "Celebration" posted and use it on my desktop.

No. I think if I remember rightly these where white anyway although I was having a little confusion with the white balance initially.

Indeed Nov5th.
Lewes is a bit of a local secret - there's five bonfire societies within the small town, so of all the places to be locally this one rules

This is great. I wanted to do something similar...to buy some and shoot some sparkler sort of photo. Long story short, fireworks in NZ have gone from crappy to pointless over the past few years. This photo has some great colours and the blast looks awesome.

Getting the white balance was a nightmare! I really couldn't make my mind up what to choose, meanwhile thousands of pounds worth of fireworks where going off! I simply picked this and manually adjusted the balance. I think a lot of the colour simply burned out ... ... OH SHH****T! I've just realised I should have closed the aperture more and that might have done it ... SH*T SH*T SH*T!
Well there's more this weekend ... just nothing like the scale of Lewes.
I'm really glad you like this by the way The timing was surprisingly hard to guess (It's immediately obvious you have to get the beginning of the burst and it looks weird if you catch the end of the previous.) Then there's finding a spot with a good view and not in the smoke ... actually I think I'm going to quite enjoy the challenge next time.
