Chapter 2

Reality leaves you at the doorstep with no regards to your sanity involving this strange situation you were found in. With no memory of these circumstances being the norm, you felt as a orphan would when the sense of family and stranger greetings all blend together.

The humanoid gray feline with the swishing lavender tail continued to use human manners despite the angry greeting from Michael.

"I am incredibly patient." Mewtwo confirmed while petting Delcatty with one three fingered hand.

Michael continued to dangle in the air and began sulking like a child.

"Put me down and I promise not to skin you alive, fuzz ball!" The angry man grunted.

"How is insulting me going to solve this rather delicate situation?" Mewtwo replied; feign injury to his pride, "I'll have you know I am sensitive to such remarks."

Michael held on the bat carefully as Mewtwo attempted to use his abilities to gently pluck it away. Michael growled and hugged the weapon as Mewtwo's abilities yanked it slowly from his grasp. Delcatty and Luxray paid no heed to the current struggle and instead found themselves amused by Mewtwo tail.

"Please leave my tail alone," Mewtwo nagged the two cats, hopping for no distractions during his interrogation with the violent male human just a few feet away.

Mewtwo had his full attention torn between two nuances at his tail and an aggressor out for his blood. His tail was playfully swatted until he heard hisses before they became quiet.

He felt an itch on his tail before something began to bite it. Mewtwo yelped and angrily turned to see Bella the Houndoom looking at him with red eyes.

Mewtwo's immediate reflex was to use psychic abilities to stop the hound from biting, but it so happened to no avail.

"Hey dumbass! It's been awhile since I saw you! Say hi to Bella, my dark type Pokemon!" Michael laughed as Mewtwo hissed and released the psychic force holding the imprisoned barkeeper.

Michael dropped to the ground and landed on a sore ass. His phone rang after he groaned from the drop. He quickly grabbed his phone out of one of his pockets, with a few curse words involved in the process.

"What? I'm busy right now! Yeah! Bella's right here, she must've known I wanted her to head on home when you got my shift! Gettin' off now!" He began cheering at Bella when she tackled the surprised Mewtwo.

Bella knocked Mewtwo to the ground and barked at his face. Her pink ribbon bow landed near Mewtwo's nose and he sneezed. The dog flinched in reflex from the proximity and preceded to bite his arm.

"Ugh!" Mewtwo grunted in pain and slapped the dog off of him with his tail. Bella whined before opening her mouth and a small flame started to come out of her throat.

"Bella!" You called out to the hound and she ceased immediately, before growling at Mewtwo and whining to you with her paw hitting your leg. She was angry at Mewtwo and hoped for revenge.

"Mewtwo," you said his name, but it sounded foreign on your tongue. He looked surprised to see you. You were a spectator to the event, and it was a formal concern you gave him.

"This behavior is ridiculous," you said, and looked at the injury on his arm. "That didn't really hurt you, did it?"

Mewtwo smirked, "Of course not, I am still stronger than the mutt over there despite Bella's immunity to my psychic abilities. That was more of an angry hello that I received than anything else. Although, the baseball bat Michael used is a different color."

"You broke my other one, asshole," Michael replied with lowered shoulders and cramping sides.

"I do apologize; I should allow you to beat my skull in while attempting a visit to (Name)." Mewtwo replied sarcastically, while swatting a certain opportunist from laying on him. Luxray had no shame in using any living object as his pillow. Mewtwo stood back on his feet and gave you a quizzical look while pushing the black and blue cat away from him.

"Perhaps you should continue your rest?" Mewtwo suggested, and carefully placed an arm around your weary shoulders.

You remembered the strange hickey marks on your neck and narrowed your eyes. A small scoff left your throat before shrugging off his weird looking arm from you.

"Please don't touch me," you said in earnest and gave him a doubtful look.

Mewtwo obliged by your action and gave a small nod. Your immediate response was to return to the house. He gave a forlorn look to the hovering twisted tree not far from when he startled you. It was going to be an interesting night.

Mewtwo shamelessly walked in your direction while under the supervision of Bella. The hound grunted and made a few snorts at him before pawing the ground in disdain. Luxray and Delcatty took the sly effort of being away from biting distance of the Houndoom. The natural rivalry of cats and dogs was a persistent one, and the dog did not take too kindly to three intruding cats within her territory.

You noticed that Mewtwo was following you into the direction of the house, and he wasn't getting the message.

"Michael? Would you take Delcatty, Luxray, and Bella in the house, I need to talk to Mewtwo alone." You said through clinched teeth, and forced yourself to get the privacy.

Michael didn't look pleased by your answer, but after seeing the stressed look on your face, he muttered and rounded up the pets inside the house.

You sighed in contempt of the situation and wished to disregard the incidence, "I would appreciate it if you left, Mewtwo."

He wasn't convinced of your demand, and he had yet to understand your conviction to being cold to him.

"I'm concerned with your safety," Mewtwo said, with his serious demeanor replacing the amused look from before.

"I'm safe! I have a roof over my head, three annoying cats, a growling dog, and one of the cats is biting me in places where he shouldn't be! Do you know how strange that is to me?" You shivered, "It's awfully strange enough to think that I can't remember anything right now."

Mewtwo made a small growl in annoyance and scoffed at your attitude, "I didn't take you for an ass, (Name)."

You didn't hesitate to turn around and slap his face. He didn't flinch from your assault.

"You don't know anything!" You yelled at him in anger, "You don't know how I feel right now! I feel like I just woke up and nothing makes any sense!"

Mewtwo snorted and rubbed the side of his face where your weak attack itched.

"You're as weak as ever," he chuckled, despite the situation.

"Why do you always call me that?" You yelled, and the impulsive action surprised you.

"You remembered something?" Mewtwo asked softly, and gently touched your cold cheeks. "I didn't think I would actually get a reaction simply by insulting you a few times."

You huffed in irritation from his first response, but then you looked to the ground after his confessional reply.

"So, calling me an ass and claiming I'm weak was to get me to remember something?" You asked with uncertainty.

"I still meant what I said," Mewtwo smiled, after he realized you weren't pushing him away again.

"That's nice," you scoffed, "I didn't realize how much of a idiot you are."

"That hurts my feelings," Mewtwo said and lightly touched his chest where his heart was located. "I'm an extremely egotistical manic hell bent on controlling the world."

You gave him a strange look after realizing that he was half joking.

"I am partially serious on the matter," he smiled, "The attempt was quite a long time ago. I gained a sense of humor since then."

You scratched your head after being baffled by his strange conversation choice. He was a little vague on his jokes, but you were certain that he was getting across his sarcastic and rather humored outlook on life.

You put your hands up in the air in distress, yet his odd jokes placed a smile on your face, "I honestly don't know what to think of you! I attempt to be serious, and somehow end up in these circumstances where you give me cryptic messages and weird little laughs."

Mewtwo sighed and made upward motions with his shoulders to emphasize his response, "I understand your concern with the matter, but I honestly would not know how to resolve it. Losing your memories, all of them in fact, have placed you at a disadvantage. You could say that I learned to use humor to deal with high amounts of stress."

You looked at him with a small amount of conflicted thought, "You weren't always so happy... were you?"

Mewtwo looked at you with another smile, "I feel that you shouldn't worry too much about your amnesia. It appears that you do happen to remember bits and pieces. Just give it some time and all of it will come back to you."

At the time, Mewtwo looked satisfied with your responses and decided then it was his time to leave.

You called out to his retreating form, "Hey wait a minute! Just what exactly are you supposed to be to me?"

As usual, his response so far had put you in endless questions. "I will be whoever you want me to be, as I have always been. A lover, a friend, a guardian, I have accepted all and any names you so choose to give me."
