Description
Her highness: Princess Celestia. It's a somewhat straightforward portrait of Princess Celestia, but I wanted to try drawing her wings properly, and i think I pulled that off rather well. Still experimenting a bit with Manga Studio's watercolor tools, this time mixing them with the other tools and techniquies I've learned to use instead of using them nearly exclusively like with my previous Fluttershy portrait.
On a meta note, this drawing hopefully means that my drawing inspiration block has been shattered. I had a ton of good ideas the last few months, but didn't get any of them further than the sketch part. Well, here's one that made it all the way.
My Little Pony and Princess Celestia are property of Hasbro.

I really love the wings, the emboss effect and the metallic shading. Your take on the mane is also very cool. You've really come a great way, but still need some more work on your pencilling skills.

I know, my shading skills have outpaced my sketching skills... by a lot. Shading is fun, though, and this one was more about re-igniting my spark than challenging myself. And in that respect, it's a success.
Thanks for the compliments of the wings, metals, and mane/tail. I'm actually not entirely sure how I got to the effect with the mane, it just sort of happened. Then I refined it to look like it was on purpose and added the glowing effect.
In any case, I'll have to practice my sketching, because my shading skills are fine as-is for now.
