I sometimes choose water starter sometimes i choose fire starter. However, in Emerald i got all starters in beginning since i traded.

I love this!!!!!!! My starter for Emerald was Mudkip, & Emerald was my first Pokémon game ( I got it when I was 6, but I had watched the anime since I was 4) so Mudkip was the first Pokémon I ever had, & Piplup was my starter for Diamond, but I don't have it now because I was stupid enough to trade it to my brother so I could get an Eevee egg (which is now a Leafeon, as of a week ago). Amazing drawing, though!!!!!!!!!!!

I usually go with a Water Pokémon as my starter, because they can use the HM Surf without even having to evolve.
