The first in a four-part mini-arc to be completed this month in honor of Autism Awareness Month!
No, this is not an April Fool's joke; I've mentioned it back in March, so you can be rest assured that I actually do plan on updating on this arc every Saturday in April (barring unforeseen circumstances).
I'm not going to go into detail here since Kairy will be explaining things in the next couple issues (which might be full-page) on what the "Disability Tree" is, but it's something I've wanted to cover for a while...but might get a little wordy due to a much needed explanation.
It wouldn't be story-length wordy, but perhaps similar to the amount of text/dialogue in the first season rather than leaving it for the description for further explanation.
To be honest, I had to redo the storyboard for this in the morning when I realized there was a continuity error in the first one (Danny was going to ask since he's typically the naive one...but then I remembered that Danny doesn't know about Caitlin's diagnosis, nor Fletcher's).
Caitlin, meanwhile, lives up to being a cat; she's naturally curious...
...that, and sometimes when people have the same diagnosis but different issues that come with it, they start to wonder if there's something really wrong with them.
Don't worry; there's not.
Kairy will start to explain in the next issue. ^^

I remember my mom answering a similar question of mine when I was in High School: there was a freshman with severe autism in my art class and was always accompanied by a faculty member who takes care of students with such cases. She described it as like three brothers who had the flu: one has nasal congestion, another has sneezing fits, and the last one has coughing fits. "Same condition, different symptomology," was how she summed it all up. Sounds to me that Cait has the same kind of confusion I had about my classmate back then.

I never heard of this term: "The Disability tree"
Is it a new concept? (I ask because I dropped from the Autism Rights Movement after a fallout with many Autism Rights Activists, and I never heard of this before)

I plan on making her the main female protagonist; I just need to get her into the comics more, so this is at least a good start. The tough part is that Patch is still Kairy's best friend, and I don't want to phase him out.
I figure there will be three main groups:
-Kairy, Patch, and Caitlin
-Fletcher and Benny
-Danny and Blake
The groups will occasionally cross paths (such as Fletcher joining the "main trio"), but I'm probably going to keep it to that to make it easier to manage the characters for now. I also have plans for Fletcher's brother, though that will include another character.

Also, is this tree gonna be a reference to an "ability tree" from a game? There's definitely an opportunity for it...

Yay for noticing the break! Yea, that's going to come into play for the next issue in this arc; Kairy had to "step outside" of the normal "boarders" of what's going on in order to properly explain within a time limit (aka, panel limit for a single page).
