Description
GTFO my forest! My newest cosplay, San from Princess Mononoke. I've been a Ghibli Films fan for years, and it's really cool to finally cosplay one of Miazaki's characters. Taken at Kelly Park at the NorCal Picnic, Aug 2009.

This is an amazing photograph, I love the tone and colors, and the cosplay is spot on! Out of curiosity, what did you make the mask out of?

Aw thanks! The mask is made from paper mache formed on the inside of a plastic bowel then covered in paper clay. The eyes and mouth are actually wooden napkin ring holders that I cut and set into place before I applied the paper clay. Paper clay is better than clay because it doesn't crack, it dries quickly, and it becomes super hard. I can prolly toss that mask at the wall and it wouldn't crack! You can see some of my process pictures here: [link]

That is freakin' great cosplay, best part being the cosplayer fitting the character's looks/expression.
