Another pic of Catrina Inganova from AX 2011, taken by Tearatone. Haha, it felt so strange being a gunner with a sword, but I didn't think AX would allow my rifle this year, they made their rules so scary. Too bad I wouldn't know until later that there wasn't enough volunteers to enforce the props rules for the most part...Related content

Cool outfit, looks good.
I support the prop and safety rules, just kind of hope they are enforced consistently. I was at an event last weekend where they have a guy checking props at the entrance, my bow is fine. Later I'm at the farthest point away from the entrance and a different guy says, oh no, take apart the bow, safetly rules. Someone make up my mind.

Gunner without a rifle? Like, how could a steampunk rifle have fallen afoul of their rules?? Have they finally gone off the deep end?

yea, its not exactly a realistic rifle or anything, but ax got so crazy about the prop rules. If it was over six feet, looked like a gun, and was moderately more dangerous than a popcicle stick, it wasn't allowed. I was sad because my big key prop wasn't allowed, and I had just finished making his new head. I finally said fuck it and brought it anyway. I never peace bonded any of my props and not one person bothered me. Apparently volunteers are scarce, since ax is such a pain. Doesn't help my lonely rifle tho. So while trying to finish my commissions, costumes, and working full time, I had to design and make this sword in like three days. I was so tired...

That's all just so absurd. Fuck AX.
