Description
The main characters of one of my first series are being redesigned.This is the new revamped design of my character Akagi. You can actually see an old design of her HERE , from way back in 2003, before I finished developing everything.
The main changes in her design are the lower portion of her costume. I really didn't like the short shorts (I don't even know what I was thinking when I designed that) and I hadn't put a lot of thought into her footwear. What I did like and opted to keep was her top, although it was suggested that I change the side straps to a single strap around her ribs at the bottom of her top. I just wasn't feeling it so I only downsized the collar of the top.
I showed this to some friends before I posted it an it was pointed out that she looks a little small. Well that's mainly because I designed her to be 5'6" tall. So yes she's a little on the small side
But she can still do a good lot of damage 
Akagi is one of the half dozen characters starring in the sci-fi series.

I like it! Though personally I think I like the first versions hair better, something about the way it hangs down added a sense of both toughness and mystery that I like.

Yeah well I love it and I just might steal that hair style for one of my characters if you don't give it back to her!
But then.. I'm partial to the more simplistic styles like that.. when they get all lined and detailed it's just not as neat to me..

outfit looks great too!
heres a tip: maybe you can add battle scars on her wrist guards
but the lineart is clean and real good, keep it up!

I like the shorts and boots better in the original, personally. But you can see your growth as an artist. The overall piece is stronger than the original.

She's certainly not less attractive!
The original has a Tomb Rader thing going for it. Thus the appeal for me I think. The long boots and short wouldn't look right. The newer version reminds me of a more militant type of character, controlled and focused.
The original has a more sparadic, random feel to it, like Laura Croft. So I guess it depends on "who your character is"
I like the wild, upredictable ones I guess.
I didn't mean to imply that it doesn't work, because it does.
