Say hello to a close relative to that carabus intricatus I posted earlier. Just when I officially called the season off (and it has ended), there's a sneaky way to find these guys when they prepare for hibernation. It simply involves flipping rocks, logs/ripping apart dead wood (the last method is not recommended as it destroys their hiding spots, it should be used only as a last resort) until you find them.
This guy is Carabus nemoralis. And if you look closely, it's got a bit of a dent on its left elytron, either something tried to get hold of this guy, or it got squished under something.
EDIT: the picture was kinda dark, so I tweaked it and now it looks much better.
