Description
I've got really lucky with rove beetles recently and as a result, I've started to appreciate them way more than before. I've met a ton of them under bark, crawling on walls and hunting on compost bins. They are a bit more resilient than the other beetles, as you can run into them in October or November. This guy I've picked up from a wall and moved over to a place, where no stupid security guard from a local factory would pester me (Yeah, that actually happened). And I got doubly lucky, that this guy didn't get agitated in the process, normally when I move beetles in a container and move them somewhere else, they start crawling like their life depends on it. Anyway, this is Acidota cruentata, also known as blood-red rove beetle here. I don't think I need to explain, why it got that name.
