Description
Inspired by D&D's "Eberron" campaign where tribal halflings ride dinosaurs around. The dinosaur mount is sort of a combination between a dromeosaur and an ornithomimus--predatory enough to aid a rider in the hunt, but not so vicious as to avoid domestication. I figure big dinonychus claws on his feet would enable him to take matters into his own hands, so I left them out. I don't remember if there is a specific dinosaur in the campaign like this or not.

Holy shit, that's a big ol' bunny...... Yes, that's what caught my eye first. Don't judge me, I live with three hormonal women, I'm used to blood-thirsty monsters that want to rip me to peices.

Whoa, is that a huge rabbit or is it nearer than the rider?
If a halfing is half the size of human, wouldn't they be larger? The rider looks like a tribal Gallevaspian (from the Phillip Pullman's trilogy, sorry if the allusion confuses you)
I'm an idiot sometimes, so don't really bother to listen to me...
Great sketch, I really like the dinosaur!

Were the Gallevaspians those little guys that rode the dragonflies around? (I loved the His Dark Materials trilogy.) The rabbit could be huge, it is some crazy fantasy world after all... Although the halflings of the D&D universe are more like quarterlings (heh). They are probably the smallest of the races, smaller than gnomes. At least from what I can remember. I guess everyone has their halflings different these days. But I find that refreshing
Thank you kindly!

This is awesome, and I love it when an artist mentions their thought process behind a design element in their work. Great work!

Eberron is so full of awesome... and so is this pic! Great job on the perspective, and I love all the detail you put into the dinosaur's harness and saddle, not to mention all those scales!
If you were wondering, in the 3rd edition Eberron Campaign Setting book there are 3 kinds of fictional dinosaurs they ride: the Clawfoot (basically a velociraptor), the Fastieth (which sounds like what you've got here), and the Glidewing (basically a pterodactyl). I have no idea what's in the 4th Edition version.
I personally am all for making artistic choices that make logical sense, even if they don't match what's in the book, so either way I love this drawing.

Thank you kindly! Yeah, Fastieth it probably is... thanks for the info actually, I guess I was too lazy to actually look it up myself (heh heh) although I don't think there is an Eberron book in my household. A bunch of my buddies set up an Eberron campaign a while back and we had maybe 7 players, two of which were dinosaur-riding halflings. I remember scaling the wall in the dungeon was interesting...
