This is an old image. I drew it some years ago, not sure how long ago. I think the picture is like 18"x24". Back then I always use to draw big. But once I started working with a scanner I found that it was easier to draw smaller, which has taken lots of training. For some reason I always want to draw big, it's a constant frustration. I guess the only good that came out of it is that I got real good at scanning large images with an 8.5x11 scanner.Anyways, long story short: Girl ridding on top of a Dilophosaurus, done in pencil, old pick.

So awesome! The Dilophosaurus is beautiful, and the "barbarian" armor looks almost . . . regal. I hope one day my pencil drawings can match this level of realism. Thanks so much for posting it. This is definitely going in my favorites list!

but wouldnt the Dilophosaurus have chowed down on that chick before she could say "Wow!, A Dilophosaurus, quick call National Geographic, or Steven Spielberg or somebody!"...

I scanned it on a regular sized scanner. What I had to do was scan it in sections to try to get all the information. In other words: I scan the top, save it. Scan the middle, save it. Scan the bottom and save it. Then I went into Photoshop and reconstructed the picture with all the section scans I got. It takes some practice...

what I like most is that the Dilophosaur is closer to the ACTUAL SIZE!!!! Not a teensy Jurassic Park one. You have this sick smoothness to your greys. Diggin' it.
