I just finished playing all three Mass Effect games and my heart hurts uuuughh!Her name is Geil Shepard and she's such a badass.
This scene is from the end of ME3 when Shepard's all beat up and bleeding and almost done for. She's sitting next to Anderson's dead body and slowly passing out when Hackett contacts her. Straight away and with her last bit of strength, she tries to stand up, asking "what do you need me to do?". I think my heart broke right there. Even in her last hour, she' so eager to serve and help.
Anyway, as for the drawing, I got a bit lazy towards the end and rushed her hair, but I actually like the end result.

You know what the worst part about the ME3 ending is? In my playthrough, she left Garrus behind. They were in it to the end. They were gonna adopt kids and... its just not fair! ;~;

I am such a sucker for a beat-up FemShep. It's not that I like S&M, or am misogynistic or anything! I just love it whenever an artist defies convention and shows me a woman who can be as beat-up as a man and just as heroic. In my head that's a given, but apparently in the rest of the world people seem to think male and female means difference more than just internal plumbing or the position of fat deposits. :S
Anyway I'd like to ask if I might (at some point) add this to the albums of a fanpage I admin on Facebook - Mass Effect Female Shepard. I like to collect permissions first, then post from the selection of responses I get saying yes. Nonetheless yours is one I might save for a special occasion. I understand that doing 'beat up' is artistically more difficult than 'not beat up' so pieces like this are more rare. Nonetheless I have a special "Scars" folder just for them, and I tend to post them at certain times of year - Remembrance Day to acknowledge that nobody comes out of conflict without scars, and sometimes at Christmas or New Year because those times can be tough for anyone who has legitimate reasons to be feeling anything but 'festive'. Or when I'm having traumas of my own, lol, I use pieces like this to talk about my frustrations as if they were in the Mass Effect universe.
So... let me know if you'd be up for me sharing this piece of yours. Either way, I love it. I'd also like to say I love the background too. I think it really helps frame the piece... The light/dark/smoke effect is really good, and the [sparks of burning debris?] really add a nice sense of potential desolation, without you having to actually put a *background of war/desolation/destruction* behind her. Nice job!

It IS very emotional. I cried during the ending and I kept thinking about it for days. ;__;
I chose control because my friends told me it was the best one. And Shepard dies, and kind of... Doesn't die? Which is alright, and everyone seemed happy.

I was in denial for roughly a week and then I started a new playthrough to pretend it didn't happen ; - ;
I chose destroy because then I can kid myself that Shepard's alive, and it felt like I was honoring Anderson ; w ; that and I like to imagine all the post-war stuff with Shep and her old squadmates, and that they found a way to reactivate EDI and the geth. The Happy Ending mod is canon in my mind though ; u ;

I didn't even realise that EDI would die until a month or so later and I cried because Joker finally had someone to love him and then she was taken away because of the reapers ; - ;
I couldn't bring myself to watch my Shepard die though ; n ;

The thought that no matter if Shepard survives or not, he or she will most likely not be back in Mass Effect 4 makes me kinda sad. It's not Mass Effect without Shepard. ;_;

I just finished ME3 a few days ago, as well, and I just... I honestly never thought I would be so distraught because of a game. I think I cried for a good thirty ten minutes after the final cut scene and I still get misty every time I think about it and the life she could have had with Garrus ;n;. But I wouldn't want the game to end any other way, and I know that Shepard wouldn't have wanted to go any other way than dying for the sake of the mass.
I started with 2, though, so I have to go back and play all three in succession as soon as I get out of school to get the entire story/impact~! >.<
Anyways, fantastic job! I think you depicted the stubborn, determined, stoic, selfless side of Shepard perfectly.

Aaah, I get sad about the life she could have had with Garrus, too. He mentioned they could have kids in the future.... ;__; But she'll be waiting for him at the bar in human-turian Heaven, don't worry.
You are going to be amazed how amazing the whole story and impact is when you start with the first game! I wish I could erase the story from my mind and replay the whole thing again. I hope you have fun with it.

As soon as they had that conversation, I knew Shepard was going to die. TnT I didn't even want to keep playing after just b/c I didn't want to see anyone die. Yeah, I suppose that's one thing we have to be happy about, that she'll always be with him and be waiting, but it still kills me to they're apart. *shakes finger at all the feels for fictional characters* It's really amazing how the developers/writers/artists can really attach you to their characters and the plots that they have, and slightly inconvenient since I'd prefer not to sniffle over imaginary people, ha. Since Shepard and Garrus had that last conversation, though, I've had the overwhelming need to draw everything surrounding it: the waiting at the bar in heaven, the whole "May you be in heaven a half an hour before the Devil knows you're dead", and the concept of a lickle human-turian babyyyyy. ;v; Plus just fluff between them b/c I feel like the game really cheated us with no really good scenes, other than the last one, between Shepard and Garrus.
Haha, I wish I could do the same with a lot of games. ^.^ It always hurts to replay the ones you know are going to end badly and it would be nice to forget that that painful ending is coming so you're not groaning sadly while playing through it lol. Pffft, I have no doubt that I'll have fun playing through all of them. ME is so magicallll~<3

I was tearing up during his goodbye. I saw an interview with Jennifer Hale, who did the voice for female Shepard, and she said she almost started crying when she was recording Garrus' goodbye. ;_; She was like, "no, Shepard does NOT cry, Shepard does NOT cry", haha.
And yeah, the developers and writers did an amazing job! Tali died during my Suicide Mission and I just felt so genuinely bad because it was MY fault that she died, and I replayed the mission for her to survive. I kept thinking about her being dead and I felt like I had a stone in my stomach.
ME is the best. <3 Have you played the Dragon Age games? They're pretty similar to ME. c:

If I were in Hale's place, I would have definitely cried while recording the ending lol. Especially with Shepard and Garrus' final, final goodbye in the extended cut. That broke my heart, again T-T Heck, everything about the extended cut ending broke my heart all over again.
FFFFF I would have done the same if Tali had died for me -_- In ME3 I heard there was a possibility that she could die during the priority mission to her home planet (Rannoch, I think?) so I looked it up and it was terrible! Ugh, just one the most agonizing scenes, in my opinion, and I'm so happy that it didn't happen when I was playing through. /.\

Yeah, she can kill herself, and it's horrible - who would you even do that to us, Bioware?! D': I'm glad both her AND the geth survived in my playtrough.
They are kinda like ME but in a fantasy/medieval setting. You won't regret playing them!

FFF~<3 I love medieval stuff (Skyrim is one of my favorite games & GoT is just ugh<3), so I'm absolutely sure I won't regret playing them! i might just have to go get them this weekend and either stare at them until school ends or ignore the last of my work and play them right away x3

Yeah, I loved it! I just didn't feel like the side quests were very good. They were a little too... Not personal. You know, in Mass Effect nearly every quest has a cutscene, even the small ones, but DA:I kinda lacked that. I wish the game had more cutscenes to give it a bit more "life". Otherwise I loved everything about it!

If you're looking for something lighthearted after playing through the ME trilogy, I can highly recommend Saints Row 4 as many parts of it are a parody of Mass Effect.

The earlier once are very much like GTA, with just more humor. SR3 is inbetween, but with SR4 they went fully towards comedy-action with superpowers, aliens, etc. Check out this trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL91fA… it conveys the "spirit" of the game pretty well
