I'm obviously behind on my commenting, and I'm seeing these in reverse order. The layering of lighter splotches over the muddy olive tones in the center seems to suggest a melancholy that descends from and into despair or anger, represented by the darkness misted by flame toward the right side of the work.
I love your paintings, man. They always give me lots to think about. Great work.
