Description
The same waterfall as my images 'Mystic Cascades' and 'Woodland Oasis'... the beautiful Sgwd y Pannwr falls in Brecon Beacons national park, Wales. I thought these lush greens made for a nice little symbol of spring and with a bit of patience eventually the breeze died down enough for me to freeze their movement in still contrast to the flowing water in the background.At one point I was down at the bottom searching for compositions when a line of people in red safety helments and wet suits all started jumping down into the water one after another from near to where this shot was taken. They did about 5 rounds of this, one after another with their guide in the water shooting with a waterproof video camera. Looked like a laugh! Lovely waterfall and composition. There are some bright spots in the water, but overall very well done! And watching those people jump off must've been fun!

thanks! actually it was kind of annoying when they showed up as I'd been scouting around for a bit and only just found some compositions down by the water's edge, then they start jumping straight into ma frame dammit

Yes, I know what you mean when you're wanting to take a shot and people come in and ruin it. It's annoying but there's nothing we can do about it. Glad you could make the best of it....your little time lapse video was fun to watch.

yeah once they start to swoop I think it's really a case of predicting where they'll fly and hope they don't deviate too much from their course! very impressive shot of yours, pin sharp, good position and angle, and the city buildings in the background add a lovely sense of location

I pretty much knew where this one was going, but couldn't track it fast enough. I might as well have been a blind woman shooting! lol! But even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then!

I keep coming back to these Adam, especially this one. Really beautiful spot I would love to know where it is I have been scanning Google earth....Anyway super shot and the others are very good also.

thanks Jake! it's a wonderful part of the world, spoilt for choice with falls! I did alright with my images from this waterfall, can definitely improve on the ones from the others though so will probably head back a bit later in the year... they're no secret to find, just rock up to the waterfalls centre near Pontneddfechan and all will be revealed
