Sure does. My friend is completely obsessed with her song, and every time we play an RPG, her characters are all orange eyed and orange haired with the named of Seira or some variation of it.
My favorite character is Lucia, but I find the earlier episode of her as a real ditz. At least, around the twenty fifth episode or so she starts becoming more.. bearable.
How about your favourite song then? Mine is Before the Moment, the third opening.

well i think i already answered that but my second favourite is Ashita Ga minekute. while mikaru can get annoying (threatening to commit suicide in the manga comes into mind) she's not terrible and she does have a beautiful singing voice

I agree. With the Mikaru being annoying statement, I mean. She's the only character I well and truly despise. I sympathize with almost all of the characters, even the villains actually, but I just want to strangle her.
So... your favourite couple then? Mine is, much to the dismay of my friend, Gaito x Lucia.

They are. Which is why one of my favourite episodes, other than episode thirty of the first season and fifteen of the second season, is episode eighteen, Star Ladybrinth.

That was the first time Seira had a chance to sing. I fell in love with that voice when she sang Beautiful Wish -- not so much with Birth of Love. Ooh, by the way, did you know that Seira was the one singing the third opening?

Yeah,Kitamura Eri, Seira's seiyuu sang for the third opening. Her voice is mainly why it's my favourite song. Here's a question: Do you know who sang the first and second openings? *Hint* It's someone well known in the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon community, she's also deceased.

Miyuki Kanbe. Died in June 2008. Best remebered for her portrayal of Sailor Moon in Sere Myu. Plus, in addition to singing the first two openings, she also voiced Auri in episode 34.
So.. what's your opinion on the individual villains?

gaito is pretty cool. i dunno if sara counts as a villan but i still liked her and "return to the sea" is pretty good (though a pain to try and sing even WITH lyrics XD). izul and eriru don't really stand out to me. i like maria's ice powers and episode 6 is a good one. i like the black beauty sister's song in the second season (Yami no baroque?) Lady bat has me confused on the gender. is it a boy who prefers to be reffered to as a girl? or the other way around? Mikaru got rather annoying and they just didn't develoup her beyond her whiny obssesive need for kaito. i like the tiny lauhanas they're cute and funny. and i really like alala's songs. as for mikeru he is MUCH better then mikaru. and his song sounds beautiful. both him and mikaru sound really nice when singing the song

I'll admit it. Gaito is my favourite character, right next to Lucia. Sara might not be a through villain, but I'm proud to say that I can sing the entire song correctly without lyrics. The Dark Lovers don't really leave anything to be noticed, but Yuri definitely makes a good impression, a very lasting one at that. The Sisters aren't very sympathic characters, any only Mimi gives us an attachment to work with, Sheshe isn't much of a character, a bit flat, unlike Mimi's more rounded characterization.
Where to start on the Pure villains... Mikeru is, for lack of a better word, awesome. Yeah, it seems kinda stupid, but really. He is what makes the season tick! His song is soothing, and to be honest, the translation makes me feel really sorry for him, unlike Mikaru, which makes me feel like she's trying to make us pity her.
Lanhua, possibly Chinese, did you know her name means 'Orchid' in chinese? She wears a cheongsam, a fan like traditional Chinese women did back a long time ago, and I think I even saw one of those chibis holding a Chinese instrument once. Alala, to sum her up, I see her as annoying. Her song is somewhat catchy, but her song is one of those 'it's all about me' songs.
Lady Bat, despite all the claims that he is female, is a crossdresser, a male. For one, he uses 'boku' in the anime. And two, 'boku' is a term males use to sound casual without seeming rude. Plus, he flirts with the Mermaid Princesses. Of course, some dubs have him as female... Besides, the fact that a female voices him is enough to get someone confused. Oddly enough, Mikeru is voiced by a female too, but the times that he's mistaken as a female is few to none... Whys is that, anyway?

well lady bat's character is more eccentric and and sometimes lady bat looks like a boy and other times a girl. it's confusing for some. mikeru's voice is very male plus he's supposed to be the opposite of mikaru so i guess that means gender as well. no one usually refers to lady bat when talking about him but they do talk about mikeru a lot and always refer to him as a guy
...i kinda worry seira won't ever have her full power back because of all the orange orbs given to the bad guys that were apparently made through her power...

Lady Bat has a very feminine voice when he sings -- it's the reason why I like Ankoku no Tsubasa over all of the villain songs. He wears his hair in a ponytail... with a ribbon. There's little wonder he's thought of as a girl. My friends watch the Mandarin Chinese dub, where both Mikeru and Lady Bat are supposed to be girls, I think.
Seira, despite being just born at the end of the series, should be at about the same power level as the main girls, for all her songs and the times she sings them. Apparently, despite being only introduced in the second season, the creators decided she was worth giving two image songs to instead of Coco and Noel, who despite being introduced very early in the series, are rarely even shown singing! Talk about unfair!

i love ankoku no tsubasa!!
it's sad how little appreciation they give coco and noel they're awsome and i really wanted to get to know them better but there was just no chance to. they're voices are just gorgeous. (they should do a duet) well if seira is at the same power level as the other princesses i do wonder if she might have been the most powerful originally. only because it seemed like sara was more powerful then the others but maybe that's just me seeing things that aren't there because seira was my favourite

I doubt that she would be more powerful than Lucia. I think all her power was returned to her in the end. Sara might have been the most powerful, but she's dead, and that means she's not the most powerful anymore. This trainof though is actually leading to something.
A few days ago I thrw Seira's name into a translator and what I got was Sara. Makes me wonder if there's a pattern to their names.
Coc and Noel do have beautiful voices -- Coco can sing beautifully without her pearl, you know. It's too bad Noel didn't get as much screen time as Karen though, she's a lot like me, but then again so is Rina, which is odd considering I'm a pink mermaid.

The Mermaid Uranai technically classes you as a mermaid by the day of the week you were born on. I was born on a Monday, which makes me a pink mermaid. A page on the Manga has this printed on the side of the story, I forgot which but it's in the second season arc.

Cool! I have a buddy now! Two other girls on my group were born on a Monday too, but they act practically alike, which, while somewhat odd, makes sense because even though they aren't related, their names are one letter apart. Now that I think about it, their little sisters have the same problem… and it also makes me the only one of the seven girl group to be an only child...

I'm writing a fanfiction for MMPPP, which is also a next gen story, just with my own twist on it, which I think can differentiate it from all of the other next generation stories.

it's one of the few series i don't have an oc for. well, not a REAL oc. i often think up ideas for a red mermaid and have a design for her (i think she has a name too) but she has no personality or backstory or anything

If I'm not mistaken, that means you were twelve then, right? Where I live, we don't use grades to count age in school. Mermaid melody was introduced to me by my friends, who watch the Chinese version, which, for some reason, Kaito and Gaito are inexplicably voiced by females.

yep. well when trying to create my fancharacter i tried to think of a unique animal that had not been used and chose fox...completly forgetting that tails is a fox. it just doesn't feel right to change her now
