is there inspiration from Steven King's Dark Tower series? The rose, plays an important role in it, the man reminds me of the Chrimson King, though he definitely isn't wearing anything red.

Actually, I've never read the Dark Tower series. The inspiration for this was a bit more introspective; dealing with my own inner demons, and finding myself in the light.

Wow, I love the texture of the stone on the statue... and great job getting the wax streaking down. Whoa, that inkwell.
