Okay...speaking completely honest here, this scene in Transformers: Age of Extinction kind of pissed me off a little.But at the same time...I loved the way Optimus looked.
That being said...and after weeks of inactivity here on deviantART...I decided I was going to freshen up on my Photoshop painting skills.
I don't have the foggiest idea why, but for some reason I CANNOT PAINT OPTIMUS PRIME WITHOUT A REFERENCE.
I've tried...and I've failed horribly...so for now, I guess I'm going to have to stick to using reference images in order to paint.

I feel you bro. I was the exact same in dotm when the interviewer was telling Simmons to 'Get them out of here," and "We don't need them."Β
I mean yea, they're aliens and humans never took to kindly to aliens. But these aliens have saved us numerous times. Had the Autobots not been on Earth when the Fallen was present, we wouldn't have a sun and we would all die.
AoE took things too far and it all started with Ratchet. Humans think that because all the Decepticons are dead, including Megatron that the Autobots were no longer needed, however there was no reason to decide to up and end their lives tragically. Had Lockdown not shown up anyways, but because of his deal shenanigans, that kinda up the anty with their extermination.
What also gets me..and what's extremely sad is everything Optimus went through..he lost all of his friends one by one. And anyone could sense his sadness when Ratchet was killed. He's been hurt, lost, betrayed, in which it's none he deserves. They never even got appreciated, no humans gave their thanks, besides from the first movie perhaps. But after that, everything went downhill and it's awful. Yea they could go back home, if it wasn't sucked through a black hole, and if it wasn't they could build a space bridge to go home, even though they simply can't because of developing problems on Earth. I mean yea, I'd be a little upset too if half my city was destroyed, but in the end I'm thankful as hell the Autobots allowed us to live another day.

The people who complained about Optimus being "murderous" pisses me off more. By people, I do not mean the ones in the movie. Like, actually out of the film. I will admit, Optimus did go a little far (Peter Cullen himself was also not entirely ok with how he is changing like there was Aline he didn't want to say, but he had to). However, Optimus had the right to be angry about this and he should be. After everything he had done to protect humanity, almost 10 years (10 YEARS) wasted by getting shot at and losing his friends and his kind in general one by one. After all that, people were seriously expecting him to be calm about it? HE WAS DOING TAT FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS!! It infuriates me when these poor excuses of humans beings are being as bad as the humans in the film. It also angers me more when they say Optimus was "out of character" when he shot one human. People are more upset of the guy who was the sole responsible reason Optimus's family and his entire kind was in extinction also willing to risk other human lives to accomplish his goals? That is pure mutiny and corruption!!Β
...I feel too sensitive about this honestly. But considering that Optimus has been my role model for such a long time, my feelings about this is deep and I will continue to be defensive about it.

I too love Optimus expression here. Even, all along the scene... when he later knelt and blow some air, because he's pissed off and then dejected.

I got mad because i didn't understand (or want to understand) why humanity would up and do something so benevolent to the beings who saved them from becoming a slave work force for the Decepticons. Then to be up and told that they weren't wanted or needed anymore...
Optimus and his Autobots deserved to be treated far better than what they were.
