On the far side of a darkened room an overturned television set flickers meaninglessly, disconnected from its signal. On the carefully made bed lies a discarded cord around which wind a few strands of hair which, bizarrely, do not match the victim's own.

to me it represents the exact moment as you fall asleep... a kind of slow tide of darkness, but of course it's very ambiguous.
