Alternate Title: Dexter & Dee Dee..Where Are They Now?This here was done both as Dexter's Lab Appreciation, AND to bring up a valid point regarding Cartoon Network's history and legacy.
Firstly, many people agree that CN was good back when we had shows like Dexter's Laboratory,
The Powerpuff Girls and even Samurai Jack.
BUT, fast forward 20 years..and, lo, things have changed.
You ever wonder what Dexter and Dee Dee are doing now that shows like "Adventure Time" and "Gumball" dominate teh airwaves?
just how ARE they coping with cancellation (AKA "permanant hiatus")

Cartoon Network has definitely gone down the crapper, If Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd n' Eddy, Samurai Jack, Kids Next Door, and Billy & Mandy were all still on the air today, Cartoon Network would be awesome! But they aren't and the new shows are so stupid that Cartoon Network is an embarrassment now.

I'm still aggravated that while the complete series of PPG has been released on DVD,
Dexter's Lab has only had a Season One release, whilst the other seasons can only (somewhat) be viewed from Amazon Instant Video.

I'm certainly shocked that they haven't, Dexter's Laboratory was Cartoon Network's first original show, (Before they just played reruns of older cartoons like Looney Tunes, Flintstones, Jetsons, and Scooby Doo) and it's popularity led to Cartoon Network getting more original shows like Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd n' Eddy, Samurai Jack, Ben 10, and even the crappy shows they play now that they think people like.

and, would you believe that "Ego Trip"
(the first, and thus far ONLY Dexter's Lab movie)
has NEVER been released on DVD?
the only official copies are the original VHS tapes
(which can only be bought now on Amazon, and eBay.)
otherwise, the movie can only be viewed via video streaming sites like YouTube.
You would think the success of "FusionFall" (and, even IDW's comic books) would give the proper motivation to grant a release..
but, so far CN are still wasting time on "unintelligent" programming.

he said it himself: "Cartoon Network aren't interested in intelligent shows anymore.)

That's cause there's a different guy in charge of Cartoon Network now, the guy running CN in it's glory days resigned back in 2007 due to a shooting incident at an event for one of it's Adult Swim programs. Which is why all the good CN shows with the exception of Ben 10 went bye-bye and unintelligent shows took there place.
