Description
~GUN SWATBOT MK I DOSSIER
REPORT BY COMM. ALAN ZANDER OF G.U.N.
JANUARY 14TH, 3236
"It is often said that to survive, one must Adapt..or, perish.
In times of War, that is an absolute.
When Doctor Robotnik (real named Julian Kintobor) came to power,
waging all out war on the Mobian and Overlander population, and dominating nearly the entire planet
he enforced his rule using robotic automatons called 'SWATBots'
(recovered intelligence reveals they were modified from early "Peace-bot" models
which serves as a Police Force for most Mobian Kingdoms, the Acorn Kingdom especially)
from 3225 to 3235, Robotnik's SWATbots served as the backbone of his military force.
often taking Mobians and Overlanders prisoner for the "Robotization" process..
..or, just terminating them with extreme prejudice.
In 3230, during the height if Robotnik's Regime.
I sanctioned missions to "confiscate" SWATbot units for research and development.
It took nearly Six Months, but we eventually managed to construct our own Swatbot.
the first in an army that would fight alongside our human soldiers and mobian allies.
In an effort to not become that which we are fighting so hard against,
I took steps to have the GUN SWATbots programming modified to suit our cause.
while most would say my request was an impossibe one.
I was specific in having OUR robots understand the value of Life and Freedom wherever it may dwell.
It took some time, but our chief scientist 'Charles Thorndyke'
managed to program into our robotic soldiers some semblance of "humanity"
(Least, that is what I believe when during our first inital field test,
one of the SWATbot Units sacrificed itself to safeguard one of our soliders.)
So, I believe we succeeded in creating perfect counterparts to Robotnik's merciless war machines.
For obvious reasons, we modified the physical appearance of our SWATbots from Robotniks.
for one thing, Robotnik's SWATbots are colored either Black or Dark Blue
(no doubt for intimidation purposes, and stealth when on night patrols)
Our SWATbots wee constructed with a silver plating.
making it easier to differate, and appear "friendlier" than their counterparts.
we also modified their single optic.
which is blue circular shape, rather than a red vertical line shape.
In the Robotnik War's final days (3235)
our GUN SWATbots were fully integrated into our army, and held Robotnik's forces at bay.
Robotnik kept gaining the upper hand by designing newer models of SWATbots (like his "Shadowbots")
but, we've managed to endure and adapt the best we could.
Now that the war is over, I shall pass command of G.U.N. down to a 'Abraham Tower.'
who plans to adapt our SWATbot project into a new line of GUN Robots,
to serve as an alternative Police Force to safeguard our cities and allies.
the SWATbot model itself will be used for the new "Hunter" line that is currently under development.
a promising prospect..one that I hope won't end up becoming a regretable repeat of history."~

So basically G.U.N. fought fire with fire?

Indeed.
To an extent, the Sonic X version of GUN did this already.
when they appropriated Eggman's robot "Missile Wrist" after Sonic destroyed it.
they used it's super structure as a basis for THEIR own robots (the Beetles)
which Eggman noted had technology similar to his own, and was plenty mad that the military "stole" his tech.
For my Sonic Canon, I depicted GUN (under Alan Zander's Command)
as trying to survive by adapting, and using Robotnik's own weapons against him (as you put: "Fighting Fire with FIRE.")
It also seemed like the logical origin to GUN's Robots first featured in Sonic Adventure 2.
which did function similar to Eggman's Robots, but were obviously not HIS.

Hmm, the SWARbots build reminds me of the enemy alien soldiers from the "justice League War", trailer.

There build was actually based on the structure of Robotnik's SWATbots (as Alan stated in his report) static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__c…
I only rounded out their shape, and gave them a Shockwave-esque head,
in order to make them look more unique, and perhaps even friendlier.
Point is that 'The Good Guys' have their own robots,
who do battle with Robotnik's robots like Autobots and Decepticons do.
Robotnik's SWATbots are programmed to apprehend or destroy targets.
GUN's SWATbots are programmed to protect civillains, even at the cost of their own wellbeing.
(Plus, there is just something thrilling about SWATbots being on Sonic's side for a change.)

Oh, the link you showed there. I could remember the first time I saw those on Game Theory.
I actully, kinda wish I had grew up with Sonic like you did.

That sort of thing happens when you I born two years prior to Sonic's "birth"
You tend to Grow and Change along with him.
I believe the SWATbots in 'SatAM' were suppose to be like the Imperial Stormtroopers of Star Wars.
but, despite their somewhat human appearance, they are Robots.
Course, the SWATbots are nothing compared to their successor lines: The SHADOWbots: static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__c…
THOSE are the type of Robotnik SWATbots that you'll find in human territories on Mobius in my fiction.
Bigger, Smarter and Deadlier.
