'The Shadowbots are an upgraded model of Robotnik's SWATbot Enforcers.
unlike SWATbots, who resemble human soldiers.
Shadowbots are much, MUCH bigger (bigger than most vehicles),
have more advanced intelligence, are built to withstand the most extreme amounts of damage,
and, are more equipped to inflict massive destruction than their predecesors.
It stands to reason the Shadowbots were designed precisly to combat the human resistance (G.U.N.)
as they are mostly found in the United Federation Territories, and have NOT been sighted in Robotropolis.'

This is exactly what you think it is: Artwork of the 'Shadowbots'
featured in the Archie Comics 'Sonic the Hedgehog' comic series.
From what I have seen, the Shadowbots are the deadlier successors to the standard SWATbots,
and, are large enough to easily pass off as a Decepticon (they can grip a whole Mobian in their hands)
I like to think that while SWATbots are "Stormtroopers", the Shadowbots are like "Terminators"
and, the sole reason why G.U.N. developed their own Robots in my Sonic Fanon.

It's good. Leg's a little lopsided but I like the general lining for it. It looks pretty functional I'd say. Darken the lines, make it stand out a bit more after the fact.

This is a great piece.
The shadow bots have an interesting and amazing concept.
I like that you call them terminators.
I wouldn't dare to meet those in a dark alley.
Still, this is unique and blows my mind.

In terms of 'The Robotnik War' from the humans perspective,
that is EXACTLY how I played it: Terminator: Post-Judgment Day.
Robotnik's attack was swift and merciless.
most humans didn't know what was happening, until it was far too late.
and, worse yet, Robotnik appears more brutal towards his own kind than he is Mobians (Anthros)
usually having his robots exterminate humans, rather than roboticize them (which in the comics, never worked out anyway)
the 'Shadowbots' are Robotnik's Elite, nicknamed "Super-SWATbots"
they are as large as a Transformer (a single human would only be as tall as it's foot)
they are smarter than their predecessors, and deciding more lethal.
It takes an entire team (unit of at least Five) to kill just ONE Shadowbot.
but, like SWATbots, they almost always travel in groups, or with a partner.
so, there is NEVER "just one."
As Station Square is the last safe haven, and Central City is now Robotnik City,
all other human cities (like Westopolis) look like most cities after judgment day occurred in Terminator.
nothing but abandoned, demolished ruins with a Kill Robot patrolling ever street corner.

Provided I have good reference to go by..
and, even then, I have to simplify my designs, rather than be too detailed.
(one reason why I have so little Transformers Fanart,

But, after posting my concept art of GUN's SWATbots: fav.me/d73j4ym
which according to me, were developed to Combat Robotnik's robot army.
I felt I needed to post this one,
so viewers would have a good idea on what GUN is dealing with.
Simply put: The Shadowbots are the WORST Robotnik has thrown as his enemies.
and, Sonic may have difficulty defeating even ONE of them (much less a whole squadron.)

To be fair, Sonic only had it easy because most robots he encounters are "stupid"
But, as I stated before: "The Shadowbots are more advanced that SWATbots,
not just because they are bigger..but, also Smarter."
In theory, the Shadowbots may learn od Sonic's attack formula,
and, can adapt themselves to defend against most of Sonic's standard attacks.
forcing the hedgehog to change tactics, rather than be predictable
(This notion I learned from the Batman: Arkham games,
where SOME enemies are intelligent, and learn from repetitive attack patterns)
Simply put: Shadowbots are "Super-SWATbots"
which requires teamwork to overcome..not Solo Heroics.

For all intents and purposes, they are an 'Elite' version of standard SWATbot models.
so, they are like basic T-800s, only are Giant in size (as I previously stated: a large as a standard Decepticon.)
Shadowbots literally tower over their more human-like SWATbot predecessors,
