Description
Character Design for my own fan-made 'Season Four' of Transformers Animated.In the forecoming sets of TFA stories, one of the changes made
is Slipstream's defection from the Decepticons..to the Autobots (and, a member of Optimus Team.)
In my mind, Slipstream (despite being the female clone of Starscream)
is more like Dinobot from 'Beast Wars'
She's a good guy(girl) now..but, still Thinks and Behaves like one of the bad guys.
she gets into 'fights' with Bumblebee (similair to Dinobot and Rattrap)
often critizises Optimus for not being more 'aggressive' against Megatron
and, more than often acts on her own agenda.
The one Autobot she IS good friends with is Arcee
(who convinced her to defect in the first place, and vouched for her when her 'loyalty' was in question.)
When asked, the sole reason Slipstream joined the Autobots..was to "slag" Megatron, and be praised as a 'hero' for it.

Interesting to see Decepticons turn to the Autobot side although I doubt this isn't unheard of.

No, it really isn't.
in G1 (the 1984-86 series) a few Decepticons became friendly towards Autobots.
mainly, the con Octane was soon being good friends with an Autobot.
and, even Blitzwing was invited to join the Autobots
when he fell out of favor with Galvatron (Upgraded Megatron.)
in Beast Wars (which had Maximals and Predacons the Autobot/Decepticon Decendants)
Dinobot started out as a Predacon, but spent nearly the whole series as a Maximal.
heck, even STARSCREAM himself joined the Autobots in "The Unicron Trilogy."
in IDW publishing, one Autobot Samurai character
was revealed to've been a Decepticon once..but, defected for personal reasons.
The reverse has ALSO been possible, too.
where an Autobot defected to the Decepoticon side.
mainly, the Transformers Animated version of Elita-1.
who became Black Arachnia, and joined the Decepticons as an act of Revenge.
As TFP Ratchet said: "Being a Decepticon..is a CHOICE."

I'm planning an AU of Prime where at a currently undecided point, a younger sister of Arcee who turns out to have become the guardian of most of Cybertron's sparklings shows up. I need some advice on who to make the sister. The sparklings I feel comfortable making up OCs for.

The only Canon female Autobots that I know of (aside from Arcee) are
CHROMIA
MOONRACER
FIRESTAR
GREENLIGHT
LANCER
the TFA version of RED ALERT
and, ELITA ONE.
Elita One is special amongst TF Fans.
as she is Optimus Prime's girlfriend in most continuities
and, considered the closest thing to a "Female Optimus Prime"
as she is the leader of the female team of Autobot.
Also, like Arcee (in G1, anyway) Elita One was Pink and White.
In my opinion, Elita One sounds like an idea Femmebot Autobot to be guardian of anything.
though, I think i'll leave it up to you.
