Commission for *nuancecm on the "crow" theme. I came up with this image, where the crows could be seen as the souls of those which were hanged there... Or maybe it's just some random crows
Pen & ink, tubular pen, washed ink on paper (13cm x 19cm).

this one really freaks me out...the crows in my city have been going crazy lately because they're nesting. they're being really agressive and dive bombing everyone lol, so this image really hits home haha

the ancients believed that when a person died, a crow would come and carry their soul to the next life, heaven or hell.
so maybe the crows symbolize how many souls had passed there.
or maybe the ghosts of the people that were are still there and the crows are waiting until the restless spirits are ready to leave.

Very very nice. I love the perspective, and the whole mood of the picture. The idea of the crows representing those who were hung at the gallows in sinister and creative...the kind of idea that makes you want to make a story in your mind about it.
