Description
This was an exercise where I tried for the first time to paint something without any underlying line art, so basically my first attempt at a completely digital image. It was also my second attempt at doing anything in color, the cover to Astonishing Thor #4 being the first. It was part of a present for a huge Legend Of Zelda fan who knew I was an artist, but as someone who isn't familiar with the character or the game I'm not sure how well or how accurately I portrayed Link.
Objectively, now and even while I was working on it, I could see the flaws in my technique and how unnatural the rendering looks in many places, but I did learn a lot (while working on this I discovered the Magic Lasso tool watching some Photoshop tutorials on Youtube,) and I think my technique improved during the process of drawing this.

His face looks a bit pale and the hair could be a stronger / darker yellow, but I like the shine of the shield and how you designed the handle of the sword and the pose is also nice^^

Thanks for the comments. I looked up the character on wikipedia and references online. It made me want to play the game.
It's very important that when I try and draw something, I capture at least a little of what the character is about, and not just someone dressed like the character, if you know what I mean. Especially when drawn for a fan.
