resizing in gimp/paint/etc (anything except photoshop) basically destroys any good antialiasing

i don't use antialiasing, i just render big and scale in PS

ah gotcha, yup that's pretty much ideal. it's a shame how there aren't any free (and faster loading) alternatives for doing hq imaging (as far as i know)...
