Welcome. Oh, and one more thing. *Apophysis is not dead, otherwise we wouldn't manage to reanimate it from time to time

this doesn't use much new stuff in 2.05 pre release. most was done with a test version of my brother =JoelFaber 's hack version. you can get it on his site

On first look at the thumbnail, I thought "Another Julian baroque thing". For some reason I decided to click anyway, and really glad that I did.

Fantastic work, and it extends the julian thing impressively (which although beautiful, the default version is beginning to appear in absolutely every Apo user's gallery). Can't wait to get my hands on 2.05

"Can't wait to get my hands on 2.05 " If you want to do something like this, then you will have to wait till 's version comes out. the centre design was rendered first, and the image was imported into a test version from Joel's hack version.

Ah, OK, so using Apophysis to post-process Apophysis now? Very recursive and fractal-like

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MichaelFaber In reply to slobo777 [2006-08-27 03:13:27 +0000 UTC]

more like preprocessing i guess

The centre design is absolutely phenomonal. I love the assymetry of it especially, and the calm colours. Great work as always.

Is that a fractal overlay on a fractal?!

Too cool, I love this one, and the possibilities of what the new hack could ensue. The Apo-team and your brother are lucky to have you as a beta tester, because you know how to get the best out of these programs.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MichaelFaber In reply to Phoenix-22 [2006-08-23 04:18:26 +0000 UTC]

not really a overlay. the centre was created and rendered on it's own. it was then imported with Joel's 'image' variation. the image is processed and then it is a variation like any other.

coolest effect in the center!

could use a bit more contrast, maybe...

MichaelFaber In reply to Zueuk [2006-08-23 04:13:31 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Peter! What would be really cool is if this was possible without importing an image

I tried more contrast, but the main julia shape got too dark Thanks for the input. i really appreciate it!

Hi There!
You have just earned yourself an O.D.D.(oibyrd's daily devs) feature ! congrats!
PLEASE NOTE - Todays features are ALL suggested devs by the kind folks who watch my daily features.
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure and also, to introduce the more popular artists to the new/overlooked deviants. I prefer to showcase ALL artwork that I love (and that includes popular artists with a fair amount of traffic to their work) in order to create a non-biased feature of the talent on dA. *PLZ DO KEEP IN MIND - some of the features are quite popular and obviously don't need extra help - however - I enjoy posting them because they inspire other artists. Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! Sandi xoxo

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MichaelFaber In reply to tdierikx [2006-08-21 23:05:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure. the latest version he sent me has mulitple images working (this one has one separate image for each of the RGB channels). he is still working out a few bugs, and then will work on getting saving to work. he is planning on encoding the images in a text based format so the images don't have to be sent separatly when sharing parameters
