Description The centre circle is the same design as 'Signs' [link] but with a bubble final transform. The rendered image was then decomposed in The Gimp into the R, G and B channels. These three images were imported into a test version of =JoelFaber 's next apophysis hack, their colours set accordingly to their respective colour channels, and symmetry set to -1. The rest of the flame is in the regular 'plastic' style, but with symmetry = 1 so it doesn't mess up the other colours.

Interesting process, it could very well resemble a new method on flame creation with Joel's new version.

I think that this image shows promise for that method, although I have to admit that your usual level of work is so high, that this just doesn't seem like the usual standard. Its good, definetly, but maybe not for you.

are you refering to the contrast and the whispy ghosting? if so it is unfortunate, but i didn't want to redo it

Thanks for your honesty Matt.

I'd have to say the contrast. Its just a tad too bright in places, probably due to the large amount of white in there.

(I have to be honest sometimes! )

omg michael i forgot how amazing you are at fractals... that's so awesome looking! makes me so sad i can't make any anymore ;_; and sorry i haven't had time to return your e-mail. I can't check it on a school compy x_x they have so many stupid blocks set up all over the place. i can't access any e-mail account at all! it sucks. but yeah... ths fractal is amazing. the colours go really well together... make it feel all soft, yet REALLY strong at the same time. Great job! keep in touch!

Amazing image, no matter how it's produced, but thank you for the hints on how it works.

I'm very interested to see the image import in action when it's all up and running!
