Here is Joy on one of her many adventures.
These little guys are mimics - they disguise themselves as boxes... or so it seems!
Actually, they are a raptor invention to aid would-be adventurers on their journeys - with many variants manufactured.
There are docile types, which contain items and hostile mimics which provide additional challenge.
Their spores grow around dropped items, which eventually grow into mimics if left alone.
The infected items spread spores to other items in the inventory and the cycle continues.
Every box is actually a slumbering mimic.
Joy finds them particularly cute!
