Description
I was given a sample pinup/cover for Dynagirl from Fallen Justice to ink by to see how I would do on the inksPencils - Harold Edge
Inks - Michael W. Kellar
(About the inks on this piece...sorry if you can see some of the pencil underneath and black specs...I am still trying to figure out how to make copies to ink on that don't show any pencil underneath it and I am having a hard time with Photoshop to set it up in non-repro blue...I was showed how to do it and for some reason not all the copies I make to ink come out right...beats me

As far as light boxes go, I built one big enough to hold a double page spread for about $40 a couple years ago. I recently bought a desk with one built into but the light part is kind of small. So now I use double stick tape to stick my images together. Now I can move both pages where ever I need them. I hope that helps you out. I was having the same problem with non-repro blue from my printer.

Do you still have the one that you built?

Yeah, but you have to stand up to use it because it's so tall. That's why I switched to a desk. I could send you a pic of it if you want to see how it's built.

I'm sorry I haven't sent you the pics of the light box yet. I'm in the middle of moving and I just haven't got around to it yet. I promise I haven't forgotten about you.

you can use a light box and ink on a new page... that is what I do . That way my inks are clean and I still have my pencils

I don't have a big enough lightbox...mine is big enough for a 8 1/2 X 11, I would like to get a lighted art table, a long time ago I used to strictly use vellum and nibs when I was a staff inker for Gravitywell Productions [link] I think in Photoshop I found a way to darken the inks and make the background brighter, that was what I did with A Warriors Spirit Inked Version and it came out looking pretty good to me

Thanks Chad, I just looked at inks and his are really good, this is the first time I have inked over Harold...his inks for this piece will be used for the cover...mine were just a sample to see if I could land a book at Red Handed Studios...I am trying to really inprove my inking skills with a brush and crowquills...so this is a work in progress for me

Very nicely done. I love Harold's pencils, he's got a nice tight style that lends itself well to another person's inks..
