If you couln't tell (but I'm sure everybody could) this is happening in the training-year before the saiyajin's arrival, when Piccolo was still in his denial-phase
Also what I forgot to mention was that this scene was inspired from Onix's fanfiction the Dark Star series (from Book 2)

Amazing as always. Rushed or not, this was a really charming lil' mini comic. You got that great mix of humor and genuine growing friendship down great. I especially love Gohan's expression in the last panel. That shaky little grin is perfect.
