Description

It was a rather pleasant day in Inkopolis, the inklings were out and about as they normally do. Going to store to look at an new clothes, hanging out in the plaza and probably grabbing a snack or hotdog at the Crust Bucket, waiting for the next Splatfest, or going to have another turf war match with several people. Within this crowd was one particular inkling, Agent 3, who is more or less passing the time before meeting up at the Cuttlefish Cabin with Captain Cuttlefish and his granddaughters, Callie and Marie, for a potential meeting. Though, that said meeting won't happen for quite a while, so, Agent 3 was more or less sitting in the plaza as she looks at the time before looking up at the tower where the great Zapfish still wrap around on. However, that would soon change as she hears a rather cheery sound of someone she's familiar with, an inkling boy she's friends with name Inky.

Inky waves at Agent 3 as he runs over, the two talking for a bit as Agent 3 tells Inky she's just passing the time before having to go somewhere. She never told the boy inkling of her role of helping to get back the great Zapfish from the Octarian forces, considering what Captain Cuttlefish won't know of her heroic deed and that so far has been true, so no point of trying to convince a friend of the whole thing. Inky didn't bother asking where Agent 3 is going later, as he figures that he can have some fun with her by asking her if she wants to do a private match to pass the time, even if it would barely do that much time passing. Agent 3 figures she might as well have some fun and said yes. Inky decides to go ahead and get a match set up, with Agent 3 saying she'll meet him there as she wants to check her gear a bit before meeting up, with Inky proceeding to go ahead.

About ten minutes has passed since, Inky has made the match and is ready for his friend to arrive, which should be very soon. As he waits, he hears a noise, thinking it might be his friend and proceeds to make his way to a corner to see if maybe she is trying to do some kind of sneak attack on him. As he rounds the corner, he peaks over carefully to not get ink while trying to see if he can spot the inkling. However, as he does peak over, he doesn't see anything but a weird little machine, looking like its trying to clean the ground. The boy wonder where the thing came from as he tries to walk over it, but stop as he looks down. With the time of day and the sun where its at, he can see his shadow, but he sees another shadow that's moving above his. He turns around and looks to see that someone else is here, someone that isn't agent three, in fact, she didn't look like any inkling Inky has seen before.

The girl was standing over a tree her splat gun in hand and looking like she is aiming at Inky. Inky try to ask who the girl is and why is she's here when this is a private match between him and agent 3, but quickly move out of the way when the the girl fires her weapon and inky shot out, nearly hitting Inky. Inky made some ink trail to move out of the way and transform into a squid to swim in the ink before emerging from the ink to fire his weapon at the girl as soon as he transform back into a boy. The girl was very quick to move out of the of the ink and proceed to run around, though strangely not transforming to swim in the ink she fired from her weapon. Inky didn't notice the girl not swimming into the ink as he tries to figure out where she go, before feeling a shot hit him in the back, ink covering his back. He turns around to try to find the girl before seeing she ran off. Inky tries to swim back in the ink to get the ink off him, but sees that the ink isn't coming off as fast as normal ink would, in fact, there was something strange about this ink. It look like ink, but it was mix with two different colors that doesn't look right, and feels weird too, feels more sticky and thicker than ink.

After a while, Inky manages to get the ink off as he swims around before getting out of the ink. He looks around to figure out where the strange girl is at, not noticing that the girl is rather closer than he thought, as she quickly hops out of her hiding spot to sneak behind him, tapping his shoulder to spook him. Inky turns around to aim at the girl, but stops to notice that she is rather quite tall, standing a good feet or three over him. This small distraction really didn't go well for Inky as he felt something pushing against his chest, looking down to see it the girl's weapon. Not a second later and the girl give Inky a full blast of inky that practically cost her whole ink tank on the spot, which shouldn't be a problem for her if she just swims around the ink she fired out, yet still hasn't for some reason. Inky felt himself get flung back as he got blasted by the strong ink, now swimming inside the ink. Inky tries to aim his weapon at the strange girl to get back at her, but something made him hesitate as he notice something weird is going on. For some weird reason, the girl looks even taller than a second ago, scratch that, it isn't just her that's getting taller, everything around him is growing bigger. It didn't took him long to figure out that it wasn't that everything is growing bigger, he is growing smaller.

Inky tries to get out of the ink that is covering his body, thinking this ink might have something to do with this weirdness. He couldn't help but panic a bit as he hears the strange girl, somewhat amuse of his struggle as he looks up to see the girl towering over him as she squats down a bit before using one of her hands to flick at the inkling to push him back into the ink and uses her finger to pin him down a bit before wiping her hand off of the ink. Once that's done, she walks over where the small machine that Inky spotted earlier, which was none other than an Octarian Squee-g, and have it start cleaning up the mess that was made from the two's little scuffle. After that, the girl pulls out what looks like a communication device and talks to it. Inky hears the girl talk about something about Octarian base and saying that the ink is working better than everyone thought. She tells whoever on the other side of the line that if she can try the ink out on a few more inklings, she is confident that her and whoever she's with can use it on someone call Agent 3 and the Squidbeak Splatoon, Inky not realizing that Agent 3 is his friend. As Inky struggle to get back up and swim out of the ink, seeing the Octoling grow bigger as he shrinks more and more, he sees her looking annoyed as if someone asked her to do something she doesn't want to do. Inky hears her say she isn't going to swim inside the ink to see if its safe, telling whoever is on the line that they are far more than welcome to swim in the ink if they are so curious. With that said, she tells whoever on the line that she is trying to finish cleaning up anything that shows she was here and will be heading back before putting the device away. The Octoling turns her attention back at Inky, looking smug as she taunts him, with Inky nervous of seeing someone growing far bigger than Inkopolis tower, saying she wonders if she should see how small he can get in a tiny droplet of ink or pull him out and keep him as some kind of pet to toy around, making sure the squee-g doesn't clean the exact spot the inkling is at.

However, before the Octoling could make up her mind, she, as well as Inky, could hear someone shouting for Inky. It didn't took Inky long to realize that the person calling is his friend, Agent 3. Inky worried for the safety of his friend as he fears the same thing that is happening to him will happen to her. Meanwhile, the Octoling looks annoyed as she looks at her ink tank, seeing that there really isn't much ink to use that can have that much effect on anyone. She did figure that maybe she can knock whoever it is out and drag her back to base so somebody can test out the size altering ink. However, as she peaks over the edge of a wall, she panics as she quickly hides behind the wall, Inky panic as the Octoling's boot nearly step at the spot where he was at. The Octoling couldn't help but feel a lump in her throat as she wasn't expecting to see Agent 3 here at all, in fact, she wasn't expecting that this inking she just shrunk to be acquainted with Agent 3 even the slightest. In her head, she knows full well she can't defeat Agent 3 without any ink on her, and she doubts she can even remotely get close enough to nail a hit to knock the inkling down, she most likely will have to high tail out of the area and run back to base without Agent 3 seeing her, if that's even possible. She grabs the squee-g, not wanting to leave it behind. She tries to look around in hopes that the little device manage to clean up the mess so the inkling doesn't notices as she tries to run. There is a little spot of the shrinking ink that is right in front of the Octoling, the same one that Inky was swimming in. There's just enough to be spotted if one was to look down, but not enough to shrink any normal size inkling or Octoling. The Octoling checks to make sure that Agent 3 isn't looking around before thinking of when to carefully run away.

Meanwhile, as the now mountainous size Octoling girl was busy checking to see who was coming to the area and seeing that its Agent 3, Inky was almost swimming out of the ink that is still shrinking him. He worries for his friend that might endure the same shrinking fate as him before looking up to see that the Octoling looks more worry than a second ago, not sure why that is as he struggles to get out of the droplet of ink the size of swimming pool. He looks and can see the Octoling towering over him like a mountain, with her boots looming over like buildings and skyscrapers. A big part of him was thinking of quickly making his way to scale the Octoling, try to hide on her till she gets to where she is from and see if maybe that she has something that can fix this whole shrinking problem Inky is in now. However, he can hear his friend, and with the Octoling looking more like she's ready to run away any second, surely he can stay around and wait for his friend to be near him so she can help him, provided Inky can get her attention at the size he is in now. Comparing himself to the Octoling and the sole's of her boots, he feels like he's a grain of dirt. Thinking that, that gives more reason to him to wait for Agent 3 to come over and get her attention than risk his neck to scale the one that shrunk him in the first place to reverse the problem himself. However, in his mind, he realizes that he could run the risk of asking his friend to risk her live to help him as she would probably try to find the towering girl and see if the Octolings has some growing ink or something. Inky doesn't know if he should risk his friend's safety for his own, not aware that Agent 3 is far more capable of defending herself than he ever knows. Still, in Inky's head, his friend might be the safest person to get the attention of.... provided the Octoling doesn't step on him like she did when she saw Agent 3. With how things are, its possible the Octoling might step on Inky when she tries to make a run for it, considering how dangerously close he is to her. Looking around, Inky spots what looks like a small crack that is rather close to him that he can hide in until the Octoling leaves the area. However, he can't tell how big or deep that crack is exactly from where he is. If the crack is too big, Inky would certainly avoid getting step on by the Octoling, but he would have to waste time climb out of the crack and that might run the risk of him not only missing his chance to get his friend's attention, but he might get left behind, and who knows who he might end up have to deal with while at a very tiny size.

What the case is, Inky needs to think of what to do fast, as its a matter of time before he is force into one option to deal with. With some quick thing of what to do,....

1) Inky makes his way to the Octoling's boots and climbs her.

2) Inky runs from the Octoling and waits for Agent 3 to walk by.

3) Inky quickly runs to the crack and hope for the best.
